Yvonne looked at the tears welling up in Jared's eyes, and her gaze darkened a little.
"Why didn't you tell me from the start?" She wasn't an unreasonable person. Jared had countless chances to tell her, yet he never did.
"I had just met you back then. How could I have told you such a thing? Later on, we got married, and it was harder for me to tell you then."
Jared grabbed Yvonne's hand and looked at her with a pleading gaze.
"Yvonne, trust me. I'll never cheat on you."
Yvonne did not fully believe him, but she had no other choice. Xavier was in the same boat as Jared. As long as Jared didn't do any more things like that, she would look the other way.
"Can you promise me that this will never happen again?"
Yvonne thought about that woman. She needed to be gotten rid off. Thinking about how the money that Xavier was earning was being used on that woman, Yvonne wanted to tear her into pieces.
"Don't worry. I promise that this only happened once. This happened before we got together. Yvonne, I really love you."
Jared was not one of the famous ones in the entertainment industry. Even though he had won awards in the past, his income was not as great as before.
He had to protect his image, which meant he couldn't accept any random gigs that came his way. This meant that he had to give up some roles that would bring him quick money.
Xavier was his studio's only other artist. If he could bank on Xavier and profit from it, he wouldn't let Xavier go.
"As for Xavier, he can't go to Cole yet."
Yvonne and Jared had the same thought.
"I think so too. Xavier is still too young. Changing companies won't do him any good."
However, Yvonne's gaze was filled with doubt. Could she really trust Jared?
She clenched her fists tightly. Jared seemed a little off to her, but she had no time to think too much about it.
She looked at the time. "We'll have to pick Xavier up."
"I just want him to know what kind of person his mother is."
Jared too.
"Jared doesn't seem too happy to have you around either. Xavier, you could still come to my side."
As long as Xavier wanted to do it, Yvonne would surely listen to him.
"And you won't treat me as a cash cow?" Xavier huffed and looked at me.
Did he think that was what I was going to do to him? What had Yvonne been teaching him that he was so hostile toward me?
"You have a baby now. You won't have time to care for me. I'd rather be with Mommy, then." Xavier's gaze darkened. All he could think of was Yvonne.
He added, "Mommy will surely come and pick me up. You go away."
