"I'm just worried that you'll take my son away," Yvonne sobbed.
She looked pitiful, but I did not sympathize with her at all.
Jared's expression was aloof as well as he pulled Yvonne up.
"Let's deal with our matter first."
"Then, what about my son?" Yvonne looked grim as she held Xavier's hand tightly. As his hand started turning red, tears welled up in his eyes too.
"Give my son back to me," she said bleakly.
Jared had no choice but to ask Xavier, "Xavier, do you want to come with us?"
Xavier initially wanted to be with me, but he was worried about Yvonne. He was just about to reply when I interrupted, "No. He has to be with me right now."
Yvonne looked unhappy and came up with a random excuse so that Xavier would leave with her. "He has another gig later."
"I'll take him there."
Before Yvonne and Jared dealt with their matter, I was not going to let them take Xavier along.
Jared was eager to explain himself, so he could barely care about Xavier.
He and I met gazes. He said, "Take good care of Xavier."
"Are you telling me how to care for my son?"
Was he joking?
Jared knew he was at fault. He grabbed Yvonne's hand and pulled her along forcefully.
"I'll give you ten minutes," she said before getting into the car.
Jared sighed and explained patiently, "I got together with that woman by accident." He turned and looked at Yvonne with devotion.
"I drank too much that night and I mistook her for you, so we…" Jared had a look of regret on his face. He rubbed his forehead with one hand while the other hand was on the steering wheel.
Yvonne could not see his expression, but she could sense his sadness.
"A-Are you telling the truth?"
"I have no reason to lie to you."
Jared held Yvonne's hands. "When I found out about it, she had already given birth to the child. I couldn't just abandon them."
