The black car remained parked. The doors stayed closed, and the person inside didn't step out, nor did they lower the windows. The tinted windows blocked any view, leaving the inside completely dark.
Nothing was visible from the outside.
Caleb's heart seemed to beat faster with each passing second. Unable to come up with a proper plan, he decided to contact Matthew.
Just as he took out his phone and was about to dial, the roar of the black sedan's engine suddenly blared, followed by the screech of tires against the ground. In an instant, the car shot off like a bullet.
Pedestrians nearby were startled and quickly moved out of the way. The next instant, the car accelerated and sped away.
Caleb let out a long sigh. Once he let go of the tension, he felt his muscles sore and a wave of fatigue wash over him. He leaned against the wall and closed his eyes.
"What's going on with you?" a familiar voice asked.
Caleb opened his eyes in surprise to find it was Matthew. He responded with a hint of relief, "Why did you take so long to come back? A car seemed suspicious earlier. It was parked there for quite a while."As he spoke, he raised his hand and pointed to where the black car had stopped.
Matthew raised an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting someone came to scout out my house?"
Caleb's expression grew serious as he nodded slightly.
Matthew took out his phone and dialed Ivy's number. "Hey, did you notice the danger earlier?"
Around 32 feet away, Ivy held a crescent-shaped knife in her hand and said, "Yes, I did. They didn't get out of the car. Otherwise, they'd be dead by now."
Matthew's gaze suddenly sharpened. "Got it. Thank you for your hard work."
...
"No one in the country can match you. With the other two experts, dealing with a fat guy, two old people, and a child would be a piece of cake!"
Dewey also felt that Cameron was right. Dealing with two old people, a child, and a fat man was far too simple.
However, he still shook his head. "Let's just forget about it. We're supposed to follow Mr. Fuller Senior's instructions."
Cameron shook his head in frustration. "Why would you say that? My grandpa is old. He can't keep up with the times. Moreover, he wasn't on-site and has no grasp of the reality here. The Fuller family will eventually be mine. I've made my decision to act. Will you support me or not?"
Dewey understood that Cameron was resolute. For the sake of his future in the Fuller family, he didn't dare to object anymore. "I'll follow your lead. Just tell us what to do."
Cameron pondered briefly before responding, "Here's the plan. I'll drive and park right in front of Matthew's house. The three of you will rush out, take down the fat guy first, then kill the two elders, and kidnap the child. Then, we retreat immediately!"
