The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2153

Turning to Frank, Alda said, "Sorry, Mr. Frankton. We're really close, so we tend not to hold back. Don't worry about it."

"Don't worry," Jouri chuckled. "I know you don't like pretty boys!"

As Alda blushed harder, Jouri could see that there was something between those two. "So, it's like that, huh?"

"No!" Alda rolled her eyes at Jouri.

"Whatever. Just go in. I'll be done soon."

"Okay."

Both Alda and Frank headed into the cottage, whose furnishings were quite old, just like the farmer cottage it appeared to be on the outside.

Still, Alda sighed as she remembered how Jouri had wrecked over a dozen Kawasaki bikes just to get to her. "She was very poor back in college. It's been a few years, but I guess she's now dirt rich."

"Hey, who were you mocking?" Jouri asked, carrying a large pot of food.

"You, obviously!" Alda quickly helped her.

Everyone soon took their seats, and Alda started wolfing down her food once Jouri told them to eat up.

Seeing that Frank was not moving, Jouri asked, "Aren't you eating, handsome? What, because my cooking isn't the real deal? I'm sure you could see the pastured poultry on your way in. Those are the real dead."

Frank smiled but shook his head. "I'm not hungry."

"Suit yourself."

Jouri nodded. "I happen to work there, and I couldn't contact you because I was involved in said project."

"It's a dud, no?" Alda chuckled smugly. "I'm no physicist, but I've watched enough videos to see that it's impossible at the moment."

Jouri rolled her eyes at Alda. "Look at your own face! Sure, it was a dud, but the nuclear power plants are still moneymakers. I'm back because I'm looking for a company to partner with to build another. Are you interested?"

Alda was bemused. "Quit yanking my chain. My family doesn't have that much money—and can't you fund it yourself?"

Jouri sighed in exasperation. "You know that being a local is always the stronger advantage. That's why we'd like a local partner to avoid further issues."

"And you said you're helping me," Alda giggled. "You're just begging me now."

Jouri did not deny it. "It's a no-loss project, and with me at the helm, I promise that your family would rise to a league of your own."
