The nurse studied Frank at the same time, surprised that a man so handsome would show up at a place like this.
"Are you sick, handsome?" she quickly asked eagerly. "Don't be shy now. You can just tell me directly!"
Frank smiled but shook his head. "I'm perfectly fine—just wanted to ask where the morgue is?"
The nurse sighed in relief at Frank's response, seemingly pleased.
Still, she asked, "What business do you have at the morgue?"
"Oh, I am a special individual who must inspect the place, but I can't be seen, if you know what I mean?"
At the same time, Frank slid some cash that he had prepared to the nurse.
"Oh, that's unnecessary!" The nurse quickly turned him down. "I'd never take your money over such a small favor. But may I ask who she is?"
The nurse glanced pointedly at Lara, clearly checking if Frank was single so she was not doing this for nothing.
"A friend!" Lara said.
"Oh, a friend!" The nurse smiled in understanding and took out her phone. "Let's add each other on WhatsApp. Just buy me lunch when you have the time!"
"Thank you so much!" Frank quickly added her.
"By the way, I'm Chloe Sanders. You can call me Chloe."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Lugh Frankton."
"Well, I have nothing to do anyway, so let's head to the morgue together!"
As Chloe led them down to the basement hallway, the lights were all broken for some reason today.
This place was usually not scary as the lighting was good, just so that someone who stumbled here would not get a heart attack.
But now, not only were the lights broken, but there was also a cold wind buffeting the trio endlessly, and Lara could not help hugging herself.
The lights inside were sabotaged too, and Chloe sighed in exasperation as she whipped out her phone and turned on the flashlight. "Sorry, the lights won't usually go out like this. Something's really strange today."
Frank did not mind and turned on his phone's flashlight as well to start looking around.
He was soon disappointed as there was nothing he could use—those people who came in and left with a corpse would not leave that many clues in the first place.
Turning toward Chloe, he asked, "May I check the cameras?"
"Sure." Chloe pursed her lips. 'But that's going to cost you an expensive dinner!"
"Deal!"
Chloe giggled and was just about to turn and leave when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
Thinking it was Frank, she laughed. "No touching, handsome!"
