The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 905

The Williams brothers were getting roasted from all sides, and Skyler was faring no better.

He was in Novaris, and though no one had come to mock him face-to-face, his phone had been ringing off the hook for days.

Some people called to ask if the rumors online were true.

Others laughed and joked that he hadn’t lost his old charm.

A few remarked how well he’d hidden things.

In short, there were all kinds of remarks, but most of the calls were just people looking to see him make a fool of himself.

Frustrated, Skyler finally just switched off his phone.

These days, the Williams family felt like a circus act trapped in a zoo—gawked at, picked apart, and mocked at every turn.

He glanced at Jonathan, whose expression was just as grim. “When is Stella coming back?”

Jonathan checked the time. “Her flight should be landing any minute now. She’ll be here soon.”

Stella, who knew exactly what was going on, had finally answered Jonathan’s call. She understood that running away wouldn’t solve anything. This whole mess had blown up too big—if she didn’t show her face, people would assume she was guilty.

During the off-season, Stella booked a flight back to Neo-Vespera.

She turned to Abby and sighed, “I thought this was supposed to be the start of my career’s peak, but it feels like I’m cursed. All of a sudden, I’m taking the fall for things I didn’t even do.”

Abby looked stricken with guilt. “Star, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have run my mouth last time.”

She’d seen the video online, where she’d snapped back at those three girls and called Aurora an illegitimate child. Now, Abby was convinced that her loose lips had landed Stella in this mess. No wonder Stella had kept her cool back then—one wrong word and the public would have torn her apart.

Stella looked up in surprise. “Haynes... what are you doing here?”

Haynes replied quietly, “I was worried someone might try to hurt you. I came to pick you up.”

Before Stella could respond, Haynes added, “I heard Leonard is already in Sandford.”

Stella’s brows knit together. “Leonard?”

Haynes nodded slightly. “Leonard is one of Aurora’s most obsessed admirers. He only got to where he is because of her, and rumor has it, he’s got blood on his hands. Anyone who’s ever crossed Aurora ends up paying a steep price. People call him the Crimson Reaper—he’s infamous for his ruthless methods. If he gets involved, things always turn violent.”

He paused and looked Stella straight in the eye.

“This time, he’ll definitely blame you. There’s no telling what he might do. Whatever you do, don’t leave the country for now.”
