The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 390

The two of them conversed with perfect ease, no barriers between them.

This foreigner’s name was Noah. He was thirty years old, a true native of Sylvaris.

Unlike Franco, who’d tried to trip Stella up, Noah had another motive when he began speaking—he simply wanted to test just how good Stella’s French really was.

His questions were clever, chosen with care. They weren’t impossibly hard, but they were sharp enough to reveal her true ability.

Stella answered each one with calm confidence, never missing a beat.

At last, Noah gave a soft round of applause, genuine admiration lighting up his face.

Switching to flawless, crisp English, he declared, “Ladies and gentlemen, this young lady is absolutely deserving of a perfect score!”

As a language expert and a member of one of Sylvaris’ oldest families, Noah’s endorsement was a public slap in the face for Franco.

But Franco didn’t dare show the slightest hint of displeasure, let alone argue back. After all, Noah was the heir of one of the Four Great Houses of Sylvaris.

Nobody could quite believe a housewife like Stella had managed to impress a man like Noah. What kind of wild luck was that?

Noah was famously hard to please—his standards were sky-high, and he was known for picking apart even the smallest mistakes. Earlier, he’d only given Rachel and Marvin’s duo a ninety-six.

Yet here he was, giving Stella the full one hundred without hesitation.

Franco still looked down on Stella in his heart. He’d heard she’d barely finished high school and was a woman left behind by her husband—she couldn’t possibly compare to Rachel.

He’d always admired Rachel, or he wouldn’t have gone out of his way to help Jasper with this favor.

But now, with everyone watching, he didn’t dare utter a word of protest. He could only force out a dry apology.

“Sorry, I misjudged you.”

“Dad? What’s up?”

Galen’s voice was full of warmth. “Jasper, nice work. You finally did something smart for once.”

Jasper blinked, completely bewildered. “Huh? What are you talking about?”

Galen explained, “Aren’t you streaming right now? Stella’s trending again. Since you’re the one broadcasting, the internet’s blowing up. A lot of people are starting to think that what happened last time was just you and Stella working together for publicity…”

Whatever Galen said next, Jasper didn’t hear a word of it.

He stared blankly at his phone across the room, face drained of color.

He’d been so sure Stella didn’t stand a chance at making a comeback. That’s why he’d set up the tripod in advance, carefully choosing the angle and position. There were so many people on their side—trying to hold the phone and stream at the same time would be awkward, and honestly, exhausting.

He’d gotten so caught up in the spectacle that he’d completely forgotten the stream was still running.
