The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2196

Wilbur drove Stella to the hospital.

Before arriving, Stella had already received the good news that both Juniper and Leonard were out of danger.

They had both been moved to regular wards.

Stella planned to check on Juniper first.

Reaching Juniper's door, Stella was just about to knock when she heard Harold's voice from inside.

Harold seemed to have just entered as well, sounding somewhat surprised. "Huh? Where did Miss Croft and Mr. Gardner go? They were just here."

Jake replied, "Miss Croft's wound tore a bit while she was trimming her hair just now, so she went to get it redressed and bandaged. Mr. Gardner went back to fetch the cat."

Harold was confused. "The cat?"

Jake said, "Yeah, Miss Croft just pleaded with Mr. Gardner to give the cat back to Leonard, and he agreed. Sigh, Miss Croft is really too kind. She's hurt this badly, yet she's still thinking of helping Stella get Leonard's cat back."

Harold asked, "And what's this about trimming her hair?"

Jake explained, "Didn't Miss Croft have her hair cut off during the assassination attempt? She thought it looked terrible and insisted on getting it styled. She didn't want it ruining her image."

Harold wasn't surprised. "Right, Miss Croft cares about her looks more than anything, and she treasures that long hair of hers. She always took such careful care of it. Losing so much length must be breaking her heart."
