"Have you double-checked Joshua's hypnosis?" Stella asked.

"Yeah. Beckett and I took Joshua to see Dr. Hunt a couple of days ago," Laurel replied. "So far, the hypnosis is holding up perfectly."

Stella fell silent.

"Stella, did you find something out?"

Stella didn't answer directly. "Knowing Joshua as well as you do, what would he do if he suddenly remembered everything?"

"He accepted the breakup before the memories faded. Even if he remembers, he'll likely just view it as a failed romance. Just like any normal person would move on and ignore their ex after a split, starting fresh."

"As for retaliation... Joshua never lets a grudge go. If he believes you played him, he will seek revenge. As far as I know, nobody who crosses him has ever walked away unscathed."

Stella remained quiet.

Laurel lowered her voice cautiously. "Stella, did you notice something off about him?"

Stella had always prided herself on understanding Joshua, but right now, she felt completely lost. She didn't hide anything from Laurel, outlining every strange encounter that had happened between them recently.
