Joshua gave a faint smile. "Laurel, it's been a while."
His gaze drifted over to Stella standing nearby.
"Miss, we meet again."
Miss...
The distant form of address made Stella's expression darken slightly.
Right, she had almost forgotten that Joshua didn't even know her name yet.
Laurel hesitated. "Joshua, you and Ms. Cameron have met?"
Stella masked the deep emotion in her eyes. Judging by Laurel's reaction and their conversation, it was obvious Laurel had no prior knowledge of his arrival.
"That's right," Joshua said with a smile. "We ran into each other yesterday."
Laurel quickly regained her composure. "When did you get to Solmaris? Why didn't you let me and Beckett know?"
"I arrived the day before yesterday," Joshua replied.
Laurel's eyes flickered.
He arrived the day before yesterday, and he already bumped into Stella yesterday.
Was it just a coincidence?
"How long are you planning to stay in Solmaris?" Laurel asked.
"It's hard to say. Depends on when I find what I'm looking for," Joshua said.
Laurel was taken aback. "Looking for something? What are you looking for?"
Joshua was about to answer but then seemed to recall something and glanced at Stella.
Catching his drift, Stella turned to Laurel. "Ms. Quinn, since you have a guest, I'll come back to visit another day."
Stella knew that even if she didn't say it aloud, Laurel had already guessed why she was here.
Laurel understood perfectly. "I'm sorry for making you take a wasted trip."
