Stella's lips moved. She had thrown so many harsh words at Joshua earlier, but now she couldn't say a thing.
She lowered her head in silence.
Seeing this, the coldness in Joshua's eyes faded, and the terrifying aura around him was completely withdrawn.
His voice returned to a gentle tone. "Star, your fever hasn't broken. You need to stay hydrated."
He poured a glass of water and handed it to Stella. "Drink some water."
Stella's mind was a mess. She closed her eyes, ignoring him.
After a while, something cool and soft gently pressed against her lips.
Warm liquid flowed into her mouth.
Stella's eyes snapped open, meeting a handsome face inches away.
Her pupils dilated, and a flush of embarrassment colored her pale cheeks.
She instinctively dodged. Warm water spilled from the corner of her lips onto the bedsheets.
Joshua wasn't angry at her rejection. He simply kissed the water away from her lips.
"You're sick. You need to drink water."
Stella said coldly, "Are you trying to hydrate me, or just taking advantage of me?"
Joshua answered honestly, "Both."
Stella almost laughed out of sheer frustration.
Suddenly, Joshua pulled her into his arms, whispering in her ear.
"Star, since we got together, we've never been apart this long. I've been going crazy missing you... You're pregnant, so it's normal for your emotions to be all over the place. Not only did I fail to notice, but I was angry with you for so long... I deserved that slap."
Stella was speechless.
She hadn't said a word, yet he had already found the perfect excuse for her.
