The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1609

"His real goal was to elevate Stella's importance in front of all the shareholders of The Williams Group, while simultaneously stepping on us and humiliating our family!"

Coleman stared intently at Skyler, his voice seeming to squeeze through his gritted teeth.

"How can you expect us to put up with someone like that?! If we let Joshua continue to help Stella, in a few years, The Williams Group might as well just be renamed The Stella Group!"

"Bang!"

Skyler slammed his hand on the desk, his voice roaring with anger. "Coleman, what are you saying?! Star is your sister! She has the same right to inherit The Williams Group as you do!"

Coleman laughed. "Father, if you really thought that, would you have schemed to drive Mother out of the company and take her shares all those years ago? Deep down, The Williams Group can only belong to a Williams, never a Cameron."

Neither Jonathan nor Aurora had expected Coleman to rip away every last shred of pretense in front of Skyler. Nora may have been gone, but her name was an indelible presence for Skyler, for her three sons, and for the entire company.

Skyler's finger trembled as he pointed at Coleman, his chest heaving violently. He was clearly furious.

Aurora stepped forward to support Skyler, speaking softly. "Father, Coleman has been in a bad mood lately after Stella snatched a few of his deals. Please don't take his words to heart. He didn't mean to target you."

She shot a look at Jonathan, signaling him to take Coleman out.

Jonathan understood and ushered Coleman out of Skyler's office.

Once they were gone, Aurora continued, "Stella's momentum in the last six months has been truly formidable. She's now overshadowing Coleman, to the point where he has to consider her opinion on major decisions within the company."

She paused before adding, "Father, you know that Coleman is an ambitious man. If Stella were to take over The Williams Group in the future, he would never be willing to work for her. It's possible the company would be thrown into chaos because of it."
