As Foreman stepped out of the building, the smile vanished from his face. How long had he been gone? In that short time, Joshua had become indispensable to Stella.
Foreman clenched his jaw, his expression turning grim. He couldn't wait any longer. Before he returned to Novaris, he had to get rid of Joshua.
…
At the peak of the public outcry, Stella announced a press conference, which would be broadcast live worldwide.
When Israel heard the news, he scoffed. "Oh, pulling the live broadcast stunt again? We're not idiots like Rachel. If she dares to hold a press conference, I'll make sure she's utterly humiliated!"
Ever since Stella had taken over his company, Israel viewed her as his mortal enemy.
Coleman frowned in warning. "Israel, Stella has never lost a press conference. I suggest you don't try to make a scene."
"Father and Jonathan knew she used dirty tricks to bankrupt me, but they did nothing!" Israel seethed. "They just stood by and watched me lose everything. If they won't get my revenge for me, I'll do it myself!"
"Israel, have you ever stopped to think why they didn't help you?" Coleman asked.
Israel gritted his teeth. "Because she's family, right? They're soft on her because of blood ties."
Israel's face was a mask of frustration. Without help, he was powerless to move against Stella.
…
The day of the press conference arrived. Unwilling to let the opportunity pass, Israel planted his own people among the reporters. If Stella wanted a live broadcast, he would give her a live humiliation.
To his surprise, however, Stella didn't open the floor for questions. Instead, she went straight to presenting evidence.
"It is common knowledge that Stuart Gibson was a lecherous and violent man who victimized countless young women in Germany," she began, her voice steady and clear.
