The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1064

Israel turned to Sellers. “How long until Aurora’s injuries heal?”

Sellers replied, “Big brother said two weeks should be enough.”

Israel and Coleman both visibly relaxed at this.

But Aurora shook her head. “That won’t work.”

Everyone looked at her.

Her face was still pale, but her eyes were set with determination.

“I’m starting work at The Williams Group next week. I don’t want my injury to make me miss a single day.”

Leonard frowned. “It’s just a job, Aurora. One more week won’t make a difference. If you’re worried about proving yourself, I can line up a few more contracts for you.”

Sellers chimed in, unwilling to back down. “Aurora, just focus on getting better. Connections and resources aren’t a problem—I’ll take care of it.”

Israel and Coleman nodded in agreement. Whatever Sellers and Leonard could offer, they could match.

But Aurora shook her head again. “No. I want to do this on my own.”

They were about to argue further, but Aurora changed the subject.

She looked at Leonard. “Leonard, I heard Simone was kidnapped. Have you found her yet?”

Leonard’s expression darkened as he remembered. He answered hoarsely, “We’re still searching.”

Aurora said softly, “I’m fine now. You don’t need to stay here with me—Simone needs you more.”

Leonard hesitated, then nodded. “Alright. I’ll come see you later.”

Aurora needed rest, and the presence of a group of men hovering by her bedside hardly helped. When Queenie returned, the others quietly filed out.

News of Aurora’s kidnapping barely caused a ripple in Stella’s heart.
