The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1428

As soon as Trevor was mentioned, Emily and Donald's attention was immediately diverted.

"Your dad's back?" Emily exclaimed, both surprised and delighted, "Really? When I called him a couple of days ago, he didn't mention anything about it."

James remained cool, "Perhaps he wanted to surprise you."

"As long as it's not a shock, I'll be thankful," Emily said with a huff, shaking her head. She couldn't care less about dinner now and stood up to grab her phone to make a call.

Donald gestured towards his grandson, "Always diverting the topic."

James just smiled and leaned back in his chair. At that moment, his phone vibrated in his pocket.

He paused for a few seconds before taking it out.

It was a message from an unknown number, simply an address.

James glanced at it, assuming it was sent to him by mistake. He deleted it and put his phone away, then looked at Donald, "Grandpa, you guys enjoy your meal, I have to go."

"Leaving already?" Donald was taken aback.

"Yeah." James stood up, his smile tinged with a hint of resignation, "Off to take responsibility for your granddaughter-in-law."

Donald: "…"

Without waiting for Donald to say more, James went to the living room to grab his coat and headed out.

When Emily came back after making her call, she noticed one less person at the dining table, "Where's James?"

"He left," Donald spread his hands.

Emily looked towards the door, "He left so quickly… I still had things to tell him."

Nick found it strange when asked, "Didn't she go to your place?"

Don't think he wouldn't know about this guy always luring his sister over to his place just because he often came home late.

So, when he heard from Marian in the evening that Mirabella had gone out for something, he assumed she had gone to James's place again.

James was taken aback by the question, then shook his head, "No, she hasn't been to mine."

"Is that so? My sister is quite attractive and has no shortage of admirers. Probably out on a date," Nick said nonchalantly.

James: "…"

"I have things to do, please feel free," Nick said, and without waiting for a response from James, he turned back into the villa, slamming the door shut behind him.

James stared at the mercilessly closed door, sighing softly into the long road ahead.
