The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1410

Devon had just stood up when he saw Dane approaching, his frown deepening as his expression instantly turned chilly.

"So, Devon, you're here," Dane walked over with big strides, a seemingly friendly smile on his face.

"What do you want?" Devon asked coolly.

Unperturbed by Devon's cold demeanor, Dane's voice remained gentle, "I've been looking for you. Why haven't you signed the consent form yet?"

At the mention of the consent form, Devon scoffed, "My mentor hasn't officially stepped down yet."

"Whether he steps down or not isn't important. David...he's already out of the picture," Dane sighed with feigned regret. "Now, everyone in the association supports Presley taking over. Why insist on going against your own future?"

Devon stared coldly at Dane, "Who said my mentor is out of the picture?"

Dane merely smirked, treating Devon's response as self-consolation, and laughed lightly, "I just wanted to give you a friendly reminder. Everyone's standing with Presley now, you might find that no one will help you if you call them."

Upon hearing this, Devon's hands, hanging by his sides, subconsciously clenched into fists.

He thought about last night, his mentor making so many calls, with hardly anyone willing to help. Presley must have been behind it.

Seeing Devon's restraint, Dane's lips twitched slightly, "Smart people know how to read the room."

"If you want to be Presley's lapdog, no one's stopping you. Don't come here to disgust me." Devon unclenched his fists, mocked Dane with a sentence, then walked past him, striding towards the exit.

Watching Devon's retreating figure, Dane couldn't help but snicker.

Such a clueless fool, still thinking he's someone with the president's backing?

Presley appreciated those who were tactful, but his thoughts soon returned to Mirabella's prescription, his expression hardening again, "What did your father say?"

"My father went to see Mirabella, but it seems she's still unwilling to hand over the prescription," Dane said, worried Presley might be displeased, quickly adding, "I doubt Mirabella's medical skills could cure James's condition."

Presley squinted, dismissing the idea, "Absolutely not."

"But," Dane remembered how Mirabella had cured Owen's strange illness a long time ago, "if she really has the skills..."

"There are no ifs," Presley interrupted.

She's not from that family; how could she possibly cure someone from the Shepherd family?
