"I know." David's gaze was deep, thoughtful for a moment, then he looked towards Devon and said, "Contact James for me, will you?"
The forces behind Presley did not belong to any of Riverdale's influential families, and allowing other powers to intervene would inevitably affect all the major families in Riverdale. This was no longer a mere internal issue of the Pharmaceutical Association.
When interests are involved, who can remain indifferent?
"You mean to ask the Shepherd family for help, right?" Devon quickly understood David's intention.
David nodded, "The Pharmaceutical Association has collaborated with the Shepherd family not just once or twice. I believe the Shepherd family won't just stand by idly."
"True, but... James might be willing but unable to help at the moment," Devon sighed.
David frowned slightly, "What happened?"
"I heard from Dane that James's chronic illness has relapsed, and it's quite serious," Devon shared the news he got from Dane, which had also made him dismiss the idea of seeking help from the Shepherd family.
David paused, he was aware of James's health condition, "He seemed fine when I saw him a while ago?"
"I don't have all the details. Maybe I'll call and ask tomorrow," Devon thought aloud.
David looked troubled, "Why would his illness relapse at a time like this..."
Without James's help, what would become of Presley...
David slumped back on the sofa, sitting in silence for a long while. He then took out his phone, scrolling through his contacts to call his friends in the medical field, one by one.

The call was answered quickly.
Automatically straightening his posture, Devon's voice was very polite, "Hello, is this Mr. Wyatt? I'm a friend of Ms. Mirabella. She asked me to contact you..."
Wyatt had already received a message from Mirabella, and he was planning to meet David today anyway, so he agreed to Devon's request straightforwardly, suggesting they meet somewhere.
Hearing the man on the phone speak this way, Devon quickly provided an address, "Alright, then see you in half an hour."
After finishing, hearing Wyatt hang up first, Devon lowered his phone from his ear, his face lighting up with hope, and his spirits somewhat lifted.
He exhaled deeply, put away his phone, and prepared to leave the association.
Emerging from the elevator, Dane immediately noticed Devon sitting in a corner of the lobby, looking quite dejected. He pondered for a couple of seconds, then walked over to him.
