"Brendon... you're drunk! I'm Shannon!" Shannon's eyes welled up with grievance, and she proactively wrapped her arms around Brendon's neck, getting close to him.
But Brendon avoided her and forcefully pushed her away!
Shannon tumbled to the ground, her knees and arms turning red from the fall. What made Shannon even angrier was that Brendon was still muttering Ranita's name.
"That damn woman!" Shannon muttered to herself and pounded the ground fiercely.
Shannon's worst fear had come true! Had three years really given Ranita a chance to take advantage? If Brendon had fallen for Ranita, what would she do?
Shannon clenched her fist, her resentment towards Ranita reaching its peak in her heart.
The morning light was faintly shining.
When Ranita was awakened by the alarm clock, she felt completely dazed.
For breakfast, she cooked eggs and made herself a cup of milk. Finally, she took a folic acid vitamin.
Probably because she hadn't slept well, Ranita kept yawning in the car, with a few tears at the corners of her eyes. Her pitch-black pupils became hazy and blurred.
On the way, Ranita unexpectedly received a phone call from Rashid.
"Mr. Bassett!" Ranita was surprised. Although she had received his personal business card before, she had not contacted him privately because of Brendon.
However, it shouldn't be difficult for Rashid to inquire about her contact information.
"I didn't see you in yesterday's video conference. I heard that you weren't feeling well. Are you feeling better now?"
Ranita chuckled softly and said, "Did you attend as well? Didn't you say that you wouldn't be able to make it?"
Rashid sighed regretfully, "Okay! Miss Bowman, I really appreciate you!"
"But if that's what makes you happy, then there's nothing more we can do about it." He continued after a pause, "If there are any projects in the future, though, we'll definitely prioritize reaching out to you!"
Clients are resources!
Without rejecting him outright, Ranita chatted with him for a bit longer before hanging up the phone as her car arrived at Sugar Media.
"Ranita, your complexion doesn't look too good today." Shannon wore a white dress with carefully styled hair, which made her look exquisite and pretty. Paired with her sweet voice, she looked pure yet tempting at once.
"Is it because of yesterday's overtime work? You worked so hard last night, Ranita. I'll let Cindy pack some soup for lunch later so you can drink some nutritious soup!"
Whenever Ranita thought of soup, she shuddered with fear.
