The Divorcee Who Shines novel Chapter 186

Chapter 186 Not Fit for Public Viewing?

"That's good!" Ranita lowered her eyelashes and changed the subject, "Brother, I'm hungry. Let's order quickly!"

Jedidiah immediately said, "Let's not talk about that. Order your food quickly, don't get too hungry."

"This restaurant was recommended by my friend. The ingredients are very fresh and the taste is also good. You should eat more later."

"Great!" Ranita flipped through the menu and ordered several of her favorite dishes besides fish.

"Why not order fish? I remember you love it and want cilantro on top," Jedidiah paused before adding, "Let me add a steamed fish for you!"

"No need! I'm tired of it. I want to try a different flavor," said Ranita. She had been experiencing morning sickness recently and could tolerate other foods, but the sight of fish made her feel nauseous.

When Jedidiah asked her later, she didn't know how to answer.

"Sure!" Jedidiah smiled gently. "It's good to try something new."

Jedidiah still felt a bit sad that in just a few years, he didn't know that she stopped liking fish.

The meal was not awkward, but the atmosphere was not good either.

"Ranita... you have changed so much over the years. You used to always chatter and pout, asking for this and that from me..."

"Brother, that was such a long time ago." Ranita scolded Jedidiah with a pout, looking more like a little girl than usual.

After dinner, Ranita followed Jedidiah out.

"Ranita?"

At the door, Ranita was so scared by Brendon that she almost ran away! But it was too late, not only her, but Jedidiah also heard it.

"Who is that? He seems to be calling you!"

As he walked to the doorway, Jedidiah sized up Brendon and felt that he looked familiar, but couldn't recall where they had met before.

"Ranita, who is this?"

Ranita caught a ride with Brendon back to the hotel, but no one spoke on the way.

Suddenly, the car hit a speed bump and Ranita choked on her water.

"Cough cough!"

In her panic, someone handed her some tissues.

As she recovered, Brendon's low voice sounded in her ear. "Ranita, is he really that person you mentioned before? The one you like so much that you won't even tell me his name?"

The light was dim but his features were still handsome.

Ranita didn't expect him to misunderstand like this. But there were some things she couldn't say out loud. She could only say, "He's my brother; our relationship isn't as complicated as you think."

"Then why can't we just be straightforward about it?" Brendon's eyes turned cold and angry as he looked at her. "Am I not good enough for public knowledge?"
