Accused.
Shannon immediately refuted in a helpless tone, "I didn't! When did I ever do something like this? Mr. Webster, please don't wrongly accuse me!"
"Ding Dong!"
The elevator door opened and Holly rushed out.
"Shannon! Are you okay? Why are you crying?" Holly widened her eyes and supported Shannon while glaring at Ranita and Dylan with anger. "You two bullies teamed up against Shannon right?"
"Holly, say it again!"
"You have the guts to be together but not let me speak huh? I'll say it then - bullies!" Holly can challenge Dylan but he can't let Holly falsely accuse Ranita.
He understood better than anyone else how much Brendon meant to Ranita.
"Holly, shut up! Don't make me hit you!" Dylan was provoked into anger and his face turned ugly.
"You dare..." Holly wasn't afraid either as she stepped forward.
"Holly! Don't be impulsive," Shannon pleaded softly. "Let's talk things out calmly without getting angry."
"If you fight because of me, then I will feel sad." After pausing for a moment, Shannon explained in distress, "Mr. Webster, you misunderstood me. I didn't hire someone to hit Ranita. This is illegal. How could I possibly do such thing?"
"Ranita, do you believe in me?"
Dylan wanted to say something but was stopped by Ranita who pursed her lips coldly, "Please leave."
"You want me to leave now?" Holly blocked the door with an angry look on her face. "Ranita, since when did your business become ours after getting hit by someone else. What does it have anything related with Shanon?"
"Ranita, you're so fickle-minded, maybe this is all due your own fault. Why would anyone target only you if there isn't any reason behind it?"
This statement really struck home!
Ranita sighed heavily, tightened her lips and said, "Next time don't be so impulsive; we need evidence before we can question anyone."
Stuart Corp., office.
When Brendon opened the drawer he saw a black corner of a file folder sticking out from under some papers. He furrowed his brow slightly as he gently pulled it out.
The black cover was old.
It was a notebook with notes dating back six years ago until three years ago; every page turned revealed the dreams of love that were hidden within each line written by a young girl who longed for love.
Every word spoke about 'him'.
On the last page were only two short lines: one saying 'I'm getting married' while the other read 'I love you'.
Brendon's calm heart suddenly became turbulent inside him.
