Chapter 110 The Self-Righteous

Ranita's impression of Paityn was not good because of her rude questioning tone or perhaps her accent. She felt like hiding her arrogance but ended up being awkward instead. Ranita could speak the dialect of Ecrine but didn't want to trouble herself with such impolite questions from Paityn.

"Miss Bowman, I'm straightforward when speaking; I don't like beating around the bush," said Paityn as she used her personality as an excuse for saying something unpleasantly bluntly. "Although this blue velvet dress is beautiful, you should wear what suits you best! I heard that you are Mr. Stuart's exclusive translator; if you wear something inappropriate, won't it embarrass Mr. Stuart?"

"Miss Bowman, there's something I'm not sure if I should say or not..."

After saying so much, she was still unsure if she should say it or not!?

Ranita smiled and calmly interrupted, "Ms. Sutton, if you're not sure whether to say it or not, then it's better not to say it at all!"

"After asking one question, you start rambling on and on. It's obvious that you think my blue velvet haute couture is fake, right?"

Upon hearing this, Paityn's face couldn't hide her embarrassment. Her overfilled cheeks froze, and she forced a smile, saying, "Miss Bowman, you truly are straightforward!"

The sarcasm was deep.

"I can't compare to you!" Ranita retorted back.

It wasn't that Ranita wanted to argue with her like this - live and let live - but when someone bullied her face-to-face like this she wouldn't stand by idly either.

"What's more," continued Ranita, "Are you the designer of this blue velvet dress? How can you be so sure mine is fake? What if mine is real? Won't it make things awkward for yourself?"

Ranita asked several questions in succession which left Paityn speechless.

"Such a pity! She was completely outdone by Miss Murphy!"

"How can someone like her still stay at the celebration? If it were me, I would have been too ashamed to show my face!"

...

Ranita never expected that she would coincidentally wear the same dress as Shannon. She had owned this blue velvet dress for some time but never thought that wearing it for the first time would cause so much trouble!

"Miss Bowman, if you don't have any other dresses, I can have one sent over for you," Paityn said with a smirk on her face as if looking down on Ranita with self-righteousness.
