Shannon’s eyes darted around as she continuously tried to think of a plan.
In the end, she could only grit her teeth and face it, thinking that the accident happened twenty years ago. Twenty years! So what if the maid testified against it? She did not witness how everything happened with her own eyes, and all the evidence was long gone.
With that thought, her expression eased a little, and she slowly straightened her back.
Gregory glanced at the maid with a surprised look, completely forgetting who she was, even if she was the maid who served the woman he loved most closely for several years.
Bella’s heart pounded nervously, and her breathing was erratic. Thankfully, Justin hooked his arm around her waist, silently soothing her emotions, and her heartbeat gradually returned to normal.
She was not someone who could not keep calm.
However, it was different this time. It involved the most important battle for the man she loved most—a chance to settle a twenty-year blood feud.
The maid sat in the witness dock nervously, not daring to look at the spectators, much less Shannon. Her legs trembled violently under the table.
Clarence flipped through her information file, his eyes narrowing sharply. He then asked, as a procedure, “The witness’ name?”
“Emily… Emily Bluefield.” The maid answered timidly.
“I’ve read your information. You once worked for the Salvador family as a maid twenty years ago.”
Gregory’s eyes widened in shock. At this time, he finally remembered that the witness had indeed worked for them, and she was Mary’s personal maid.
Ignoring Hunter, Steven walked to Emily and said firmly, “Your Honor, my witness actually has not much to do with this case.”
Upon hearing his words, Hunter could not conceal the contempt on his face.
However, his triumph did not last more than three seconds. Steven’s next sentence made the crowd’s jaw drop with shock. “But she could prove that Shannon was related to a murder case twenty years ago.”
Everyone was stunned speechless!
“Twenty years ago, Chairman Gregory’s wife, Madam Mary, fell to her death in the Salvador family’s Tideview Manor. The police ruled it a suicide, and the Salvadors chose to settle the case quickly to minimize the impact on their company. But now, I can tell everyone confidently that Madam Mary did not commit suicide at all. It was a murder! The person who killed her was Shannon!”
