A clear night illuminated only by the glint of starlight and the radiance of a bright moon. At midnight, yellow beams of streetlight would illuminate the invading darkness, casting a myriad of shadows upon the asphalt.
It was a very eventful week and all I wanted was to go back to sleep on my mate's chest and his heartbeat lulling me to sleep, Alpha wanted that too.
"How is Kaden?" I spoke into the phone warily to Crystal, feeling the bags under my eyes go heavy from tiredness.
"He's good, I gave him the milk bottle and he got back to sleep." She assured me as she was heavily breathing, that got me confused so I asked her.
"Oh, nothing just was making out with my mate." I cringed at the sight in my head.
"Okay, we'll be home soon," I informed her and she let out a breath of relief since she badly wanted to sleep, Kaden's safety came first.
"Alright." I hung up after Crystal's reply and held Alpha's hand as we walked to the stubborn pack members. I often felt that they were always going to accuse me of these felonies that I obviously did not do.
"Don't worry about it, they have to listen to us anyway," Alpha said madly and I nodded, it was the least of my worries, my first was what happened to Kaden before in the bedroom. I bet it was that snarly man that I hated, the one who created the pills.
Alpha was weary too, he wanted to sleep and I could feel it in his thoughts that he was pressured by all the pack members' hateful thoughts. He immediately blocked them out and focused on me.
The millions of thanks I sent to God and the Moon Goddess were limitless, if it wasn't for Alec, my mate would have been dead. I wasn't underestimating my mate's ability but the man was lunatic and determined in a very cruel way.
"Desti, I want you to know that there is nothing to overthink about, we finally found the pill and we only have to untangle my pack's misunderstandings." He comforted me again by draping an arm over my shoulder, I sighed into his side and nodded.
"You're right, I just want to live in peace," I confessed and he agreed with me, I got emotionally prepared to face the pack's wrath once we arrived into our territory.
Wow, so much hate that I feel like choking them with my claws. Lace maliciously initiated.

I was awoken at three am to the sounds of Kaden's fuss, I held him in my arms as the Alpha remained asleep and stepped into the bathroom for his diaper change.
As I finished, I noticed the symbol glowing black, I decided I would ask the doctor about it in the afternoon. Leaving it at that, I cradled him in my arms with a smile on my face and gave him his tiny teddy beside him when I placed him in the crib, he was asleep.
Returning to Alpha's arms, I went to lay again as my mind haunted the protection symbol as black, that could definitely mean something but I had to find out later.
There were obviously a lot of mysteries happening to our baby and to the attack, there might be more to that.
Stop thinking and go back to sleep. Lace demanded and closing my eyes to the delicious scent of my mate, I fell into deep sleep.
