JASON STOKES

"Mr Stokes, the car is now sitting peacefully in your garage" Jada said

"And what about Lexi?" I asked

"She is still not reachable"

"Then, make her be! Do something! I'm not paying you for excuses!"

"We're doing everything in our power Mr Stokes" she said calmly and professionally and that made me felt bad for her.

"She ought to have been here since four hours ago!"

"Sir, I'm working on it"

"Tell me exactly what you're doing, stop telling me you're doing something"

"I've sent one of the securities guard to her house to check what is happening"

"Give me a tangible reason why you couldn't go there by yourself"

"Because, I was waiting for the delivery of the car"

"Just get out of my office. Now!"

I picked up my phone and tried her number again for the hundredth time but it was still not reachable.

My mind was telling me that something bad had happened. Today was supposed to be an happy day, we were supposed to celebrate our relationship. A car was waiting for her in my garage but she didn't come to the office, or call me to tell me if something was wrong.

Twenty minutes later

"Sir" Jada called

"You better have a good news"

"Her apartment is locked"

"And?"

"There was no one in the house according to the security guard"

I got out of my seat instantly, picked up my phone and started making my way out of the office

"Get me her sister's number" I said on my way out

"Sir?"

"You heard me"

"What is her name"

"Judith. Judith Tyler. Get me her number as soon as possible"

"Consider it done"

I took the lift to the carpark, took my car and headed to her house while still trying her number

Jada texted me Judith's number when I was few minutes away from her apartment, which I tried instantly

"Hello"

"Hello" Judith answered "who am I speaking with?"

"It's Jason... Lexi's boyfriend"

I don't know if she had told Judith about me and her, but at this moment, I don't care

"Yes, how may I help you?"

"Please, can you get me through Lexi because I've been trying to call her since morning but she isn't reachable"

"Isn't she supposed to be in the office right now?"

"She isn't and I've been trying to reach her"

I got out of my car, started making my way to their door while still conversating with Judith

"I'm at your door now and it's locked" I said to Judith "Lexi! Lexi!..." I started calling as I was making my way to her window

"I talked to her this morning, and there was nothing wrong with her. Let me also try her number and if it's not reachable, I will call Cynthia. Maybe she is with her or something" Judith said

"Ok thank you"

I hung up the phone and slide open her window to an empty room. I knew Lexi was gone instantly because there were clothes all over the place.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I screamed and climbed the window in seconds "No! This can't be happening" I was saying to myself as I was making my way to her room "Lexi, don't do this to me"

My heart was beating so fast I could hardly breathe and I'd started sweating even though the weather was cool. Her closet was widely opened. Her sponge case, toothbrush were gone.

My phone started ringing, and I picked it up without checking the caller

"Hello" Judith said

"Hello" I answered

"I just finished talking to Cynthia and they are not together"

"Did she have any idea of where she might be?"

"But I told you I'm sorry"

"How many times do you expect me to take your apologies? How many times, huh? I caught you fucking that guy on our fucking bed Sofia, you were fucking him on our bed and you expect me to be calm with it" I said angrily

"What else do you want me to say?"

"I don't want you to say anything, I just want you to fucking leave me alone"

"Is it because of her?" Sofia asked while looking at Lexi office

"Yeah, because of her. I love her! You get it, I fucking love her!"

"And she fucking loves money" she said, picked up her bag, got out of her seat, started going out of my office while my jaw dropped down

"Wait a minute, what are you talking about?" I asked when I was able to talk

"I said she fucking loves money"

I got out of my seat and was in front of her in seconds

"What have you done to her?" I asked between gritted teeth

"Get out of my way Jason!"

I put my hand on her neck, roughly pushed her to a wall and tightened my grip on it

"What have you done to her?" I asked again

"You're choking me" she panicked

"What have you done to her?" I asked again

"Is not as if you're going to kill me"

To prove her wrong, I tightened my grip more on her neck and said "I will kill you and your entire family if you touch one single hair on her head. So, I'm asking you for the last time, where is Lexi?"

"I don't know where she is"

I tightened my grip on her neck more

"Where is Lexi for the last time?"

"I don't know where she is but I know your dad paid her off"

"My dad?"

She nodded

I released my hand that was on her neck and left my office without turning back
