JASON STOKES

I couldn't move from where I was when I saw the blood, I just sat down there on the floor, looking between her legs with only one statement ringing in my head

"JASON, YOU DIDN'T PROTECT HER! JASON YOU DIDN'T PROTECT HER!..."

"Jason" she cried "do something"

I tried to get up but I couldn't, the blood was much but thankfully, my phone was with me, so I called Tanner

"Sir"

"Get the car ready and come up instantly"

We helped her into the car and I sat at the backseat with her while Tanner drove

I called my family doctor on our way to the hospital, who picked up instantly

"Mr Stokes" he said

"Get your people ready" I cried into the phone "I think she is... losing the baby"

"What happened?"

"Long story. We're almost at the hospital"

"Don't panic and drive safely"

I hung up the phone and went back to petting her

"But, it's hurting me" she cried

"I know, but everything is going to be okay soon"

The nurses were waiting for us at the entrance of the hospital, and they helped her on to the stretcher

I and Tanner ran after the stretcher until a nurse stopped us

Thirty minutes later

Dr. Jocasta came up to me and I got out of my seat instantly

"How is she?" I asked

"She's okay. She is sleeping right now" she answered

"And the baby?" I asked quietly with my heart in my liver

"He's fine. She just had a panic attack"

"Really? He's really fine?"

"Yes, he is. I will advise you to let her rest for now and you can go back home when she's awake"

"Thank you" I said and hugged her

"It's okay, I was just doing my job"

LEXI TYLER

I opened my eyes slowly to see Jason staring at me with worries written on his face

"Hey, Lexi, are you okay?" He asked

"Yes" I replied "Where am I?"

"Hospital"

Everything came back to me instantly and I looked at my stomach to see if my baby was still there

"The baby is okay" Jason said

"For real? I was scared something happened to him"

"He is fine. How are you feeling now?"

"I'm feeling okay"

Jason wouldn't allow me pick up a spoon not to talk of showering myself when we got back home, he fed me, showered me and tucked me into bed himself

"How is she feeling now?" I heard someone whispered in our room

"She's fine" Jason replied by whispering back

I opened my eyes instantly to see what was going on and started helping myself into a sitting position when I saw who was in our room with Jason

"Easy, easy" Jason said gently while helping me

"Today"

"How? What happened?"

"I got back home and wanted to feed him but found a lot of blood instead. Somebody stabbed him. Mama was nice, he wouldn't hurt anybody, but someone hurt him and I wasn't home to protect him"

I exhaled heavily and thought of what to say

"I'm short of words sis, I'm short of words. I don't even know what to say right now"

"That isn't all"

"What else?"

"There was a message on his body"

"What was written on it"

"It says 'I told you I'm not going to be this nice the next time we meet'"

The phone unconsciously fell off my hand when I heard this because I knew who told me that same statement and where

"Lexi! Lexi!" Judith started calling and I picked up the phone "Lexi! You okay?"

"Yeah sis, I'm fine"

"What's was that all about?"

"I ran into a wall" I lied

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine"

"What do you think that message is about?"

"I don't know. I don't know sis but I will look into it"

"You sure?"

"Yeah, very"

I hunged up the phone and went straight to Jason's office
