The Blue-eyed Wolf In The Woods novel Chapter 48

There was no merging involved anymore, we were born with our wolf spirit inside of us. It was like having a split personality in your head. Like having someone in your mind, talking to you and making decisions for you based on intense animalistic emotions.

That was my wolf. That was me.

"But, then why don't I ever remember you and Mom staying human during the winter? Or you and Grandma?" I asked both of them.

"Well, because there was really no need to. By the time you were born, there was't a lot of human pack business we needed to take care of in the winter. We just wanted to spend as much time as we could with you. So we could teach you to run, and hunt and play as a wolf. We had no reason to leave your side during the cold months." My Father said as if it were the most obvious fact in the world.

I thought about that for a moment.

I couldn't belive this whole time they had the ability; as Alphas to stay human in the winter.

This changed a lot. I could stay near Krystal all the time.

As much as I wanted.

I just needed to teach myself to fight the cold.

"Okay, where do I start? How do I fight the cold and my wolf, to stay human in the winter?"

My grandpa looked at me peircing his light blue eyes into mine.

My father sighed, "Well for starters you can try going outside without a shirt on. Fight the cold. Tell your wolf to go away, that you have business to do. Put up barriers around him, and don't let him out."

I looked at the two of them like they were crazy.

That was more or less impossible. There was no way I could go out there with next to nothing on, and not let the cold take over.

That's the way it always was.

But if this would let me be with Krystal, I would fight tooth and nail.

I'd fight until my death for her.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, and stood up.

I walked over to the back door.

I had come home today surprised to see my father and grandfather sitting in the living room, waiting for me.

They told me they needed to help me take care of business.

Human pack business.

They were worried about the killer wolf out in the wild.

One of our trackers and guards came across two bodies yesterday in the middle of the woods.

It was obvious the killer was inside our territory and killing people from town.

He was doing this out of anger, not hunger.

"No. You need to pinpoint his next target, before he targets them. He is acting every 3 days. So, we have 2 days to get you ready and to figure out his next move. You need to be able to stay in your human form to put the pieces together. You'll have better luck infiltrating his plans." My grandfather stated.

"Go. Go out. Find him. Watch him. Try to figure out what his next move is. We need to be there to stop him. to put an end to this. 6 deaths are too many..." My father trailed off looking out into the woods behind our pack house.

"I know. I'll stop him." I turned and and looked at both my father and grandfather and knew I couldn't let them down.

Everyone was counting on me to save the pack, save the people of the town. it all came down to whether I could stop the killer I created.

The killer who was cozing up with my girl. My mate.

Thinking about Krystal made me crazy.

Thinking about her near Dom made my blood boil.

I had to get to him first.

At that thought I sprung out the back door and ran through the woods.

Ugh.

Lunch.

I'm going to have to deal with Dom, and Mia. And I'm going to have to finish telling my story to Belle later.
