The Blue-eyed Wolf In The Woods novel Chapter 37

I turned and ran through the woods blindly and madly.

How could she be with him? After what he did. After the other night?

I was running wild and not paying attention to my surroundings when I ran straight into a warm fluffy body.

I sniffed the air, recognizing the scent as Jaye's scent.

This fùcking kid. I swear to God, if he goes near my mate again I will rip his throat out.

"What the hell do you want!?!?!" I roared into his mind as I pounced on him and put my paw with my claws fully extended over his neck.

"Um, listen Alpha I'm sorry to bother you, but while your here obsessing over your mate, weve been dealing with some major issues." He said with terror in his voice.

"What type of issues?" I yelled.

"Well, last night we found two bodies in the woods. Ripped to shreds. Then this morning we found another while on patrol. Also brutally ripperd apart. They don't have any of our scents on them. We don't know who did it." He whispered from underneath me.

"What in the fùcking hell!?! So we have a serial killer wolf on our hands? Is that what your telling me?"

"Well... yes, Alpha... We're guessing a rogue obviously, but we can't be sure. We haven't had any breaches in our territory. Or, well none that we know of." Jaye said.

I roared in his face.

"Get back to the den. We will discuss this as a pack. And keep the borders on lock down. No one in, no one out." I said as I released his throat from under my paw, but not before chucking him a few feet away because I was steaming with fury.

Who could be ripping apart towns people like this?

I'm not sure if I should be happy that it isn't someone in our pack or if I should be wary or scared out of my mind.

Well, it looked like this tragedy trumped my anger and hatred toward Dom Larson. I guess I had to deal with this shìt now.

I sent out a mind link to the pack.

"Everyone except current patrollers back to the den. NOW!!!!" I roared through the link.

I could feel the majority of my pack cringe back at my anger in fear of me.

The others who didn't cringe in fear at my roar were mostly the elders, my father and grandfather, my Beta Brett, my 3rd in command Derek, and best tracker, Kyle.

I sped back to our den.

When we are wolves we stay mostly in a cave inbetween two mountains and embrace our inner wolf.

It's unrealistic to be living in our human house when we are wolves, so we keep a den filled with the pelts of our previous kills.

Of course sometimes I fight the wolf inside me and force myself to change back to a human.

But I had to deal with this as a wolf.

I ran into the cave and stood in front of my pack staring back at me.

Most of them were here except a select few who I ordered to stay on patrol.

The scent latched to the dead bodies belonged to Dom Larson.

Dom had picked me up and drove to the bowling alley downtown.

He smelled nice.

Nice, beacuse he probably spent $100 on the cologne he was wearing.

It wasn't natural, and it wasn't as satisfying as my wolf's scent; Travis' scent.

But I guess it was still kind of nice.

He wore a white and red checkered button up and crisply pressed blue jeans that probably probably costed more than my old beat up Jeep.

We wove in and out of the streets of my neighborhood until we made our way to Main street.

He parked the car in the lot connected to the bowling alley and got out.

"I would have opened the door for you, if only you waited for me." He said with a sly smile that made my insides churn.

He was devilishly handsome but it frightened me to the point where I couldn't decipher whether to trust him or let myself fall for him.

He was human.

That much I knew. He wouldn't just dissappear in the middle of fall, never to return until spring.
