The Billionaire's Desire novel Chapter 11

Trust mom to do this behind my back without even consulting me first. f becoming to be a real pain in my ass recently.

Nick was not even bothered in the slightest he was comfortable with both of my parents and it showed. I would occasionally sneak glances at him but nearly every time I would get caught in the act.

" so how did you two meets then" Dad says turning to me. I guess he wanted me to answer the question.

Nick turned his eyes to mine. " I spoke at an event last month, Nick was presenting," I said calmly tracing the rim of my glass. I think everyone knew what happened next and I didn't think my dad wants me to say it again.

" Did you two know each other that night, did you speak at all?" mom says butting in. she wasn't being spiteful, but she was being nosier than usual.

I think mom was trying to make something happen here. I'm not saying I didn't want anything to happen between me and nick. he's gorgeous, I would be stupid.

but I would rather do that personally. I'm not in school anymore I don't have to involve my parents in my life that much.

" I saw pictures, you two looked great together, the media loves you both" mom says proudly.

I didn't really know what to say.

I closed my eyes briefly, not wanting to be reminded of the night's events because they were still so clear.

before I could speak up nick had beat me to it. I didn't even k=notice that he grabbed my hand until he started rubbing my palm softly.

" I don't think we should push it any further. that night wasn't the best for any of us" he speaks to my parents well mostly my mom. it was kind of like a silent plea to change the subject.

Mom bows her head slightly. I decided to push my ego to the side and smile over at her. " Seems like you knew him before I did mother," I said referring to her and nick being fairly acquainted already with the hospital.

I bravely wrapped my finger over Nick's.

" what do you do at the hospitals then," dad says turning his full attention to nick. a ghost of a smile makes its way onto moms lips.

jealousy is clear with my dad, but he has nothing to worry about mom will always and forever be smitten with that man.

" I've always donated to the hospital; my family always has so I like to visit and see how my money is being spent. I grew up with my mom investing heavily in healthcare, but she never visited. I guess as a young boy I wanted to do it differently" Nick explains to my father.

I was hooked, hearing him speak about something he is passionate about is a lot more appealing than I would have imagined.

" Showers could be improved" my mother muttered just loud enough for us to hear. Nick wasn't offended in the slightest he actually found my mom's comment funny.

Dad pinched my mom's side causing her squirm.

it wasn't long before our food finally arrived. The restaurant that we were at was a highly popular and top star rated seafood restaurant.

Dad loved seafood more than anything. I remember when I was younger, he would often take me out to see with him in the family boat. catching seafood was something we did to bond since I was always very close with my mom.

I was surprised to see that Nick chose some unique foods.

" one thing you should know about my daughter is that she is the queen of the weirdest seafood combinations." dad decided to say. I guess we're really selling secrets out today.

thanks, paps.

You'll never see a weirder combination than the ones Selly has, trust me" mom says as she takes a sip of her crab soup.

I felt his gaze instantly.

I shrugged not really knowing what else to say. I just didn't want to be judged throughout this whole meal.

My parents started talking about random stuff. Nick found that it was the perfect time to whisper in my ear.

"hey" he whispered

I gave a side glare. "hi" I said quickly. We were both silent before laughing at how ridiculous we were being.

After a while I felt his lean in again "you look beautiful Selene" he said causing me to widen my eyes and blush most probably.

"thank you" I whispered to him.

"do you think it will taste better if I dunk my muscles in the sauce" he whispered again coming dangerously close to my ear.

"you're coming to our launch, right? I asked them

Dad reached over the table and grabbed my hand. "wouldn't miss it for the world" he said to me.

Nick soon returned. I immediately took in his dishevelled state. His tie was loosened with his top button undone. Hair looked messy and he wore a fake smile on his face.

"son is everything okay" dad instantly clicked on his tone sounding sympathetic the normally perfect businessman.

Nick put his phone inside his blazer pocket. "yes, nothing too serious but I am going to have to leave now. Thank you for the lovely meal Its been a pleasure to meet you sir" Nick said walking around and grasping hold of my dad's hand.

I watched as they shook hands. "no worries nick" he replied

Nick kissed my mom on the cheek before making his way over to me. I felt his hand reach up and curve around my cheek. "sorry for intruding in your family time Selene" he said quietly.

"It's okay" I replied staring at him wondering what's got him so riled up. An apart of me wants to ask him but then there's another part of me that doesn't want to be nosey. It's not really my place.

"you have a wonderful family, ill see you soon okay" he said wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I was instantly pulled in for a hug immediately getting a smell of his expensive taste in perfume.

God this man.

Yeah, ill see you soon" I said hugging him back. I felt Nick's strong arms gliding across my back and grasp onto me tightly.

When we finally let go of each other I bravely kissed him on the cheek after straightening up his tie and sorting out his collar.

I don't think he noticed as he walked away but I'm glad I could sort him out even if it was just a little thing.

Mom actually stayed quiet on our way to the cars. I was in my own little element and that was focused solely on one handsome man.

I was in far too deep now, with little to no way out for what I was feeling towards Nick.

Shit
