“Lottie, what do you think?” Sean’s eyes held a smile as he looked at her.
Charlotte’s eyes curved with a smile of her own. “I think it sounds good.”

If it hadn’t been for all the unexpected twists along the way, they would have been married already. Hearing Charlotte say this, the smile in Sean’s eyes deepened. “Then let’s go to the courthouse and get married first thing tomorrow morning.”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk.” Noah laughed and teased, “Look how eager you are. Can’t even wait another day to make it official. Aren’t you afraid her father will break your legs for not asking his permission first?”
Not only was Sean not annoyed by his teasing, but his smile grew even wider. “A single guy like you obviously can’t understand me.”
Noah shook his head again with more clicking sounds. “Great, now he’s showing off.”
Jordan laughed and said, “At least tell us when you’re planning the wedding. All of us are waiting to celebrate with you properly.”
Sean replied, “Don’t worry, the big party will come soon enough. You’ll get your chance to celebrate.”
The group laughed and joked as they made their way back to the main hall, where the birthday dinner officially began.
Sean valued Charlotte more than himself, which was why he had placed the proposal ahead of the celebration.
The spacious dining room was set with a feast.
After dinner, Charlotte was pulled aside by her close friends.
Mia grabbed her hand, her eyes lighting up. “This ring is gorgeous. Sean has great taste. He had it custom- made just for you. There’s only one like it in the world.”
“How do you know that?” Charlotte asked.
“Ian told me,” Mia said.
Jenny lowered her gaze to stare at the ring, her voice full of awe. “Wow, it’s stunning. That diamond is huge! It’s blinding me.”
Charlotte smiled faintly. “So you all knew Sean was going to propose to me today. No wonder you insisted I wear this dress.”
Mia and Lena both nodded.
“This dress was also custom–made by Sean more than a month ago,” Lena said. “It’s no ordinary gown. It was designed by the world’s top bridal designer, and her whole team worked on it for over a month. I heard it was chosen from more than a hundred sketches.”
Jenny’s expression turned dreamy. “Wow, Charlotte, Sean really treats you so well.”
“No wonder it’s so beautiful,” Mia said. “It’s luxurious but still sweet and elegant. When I marry lan, I’m

going to ask her to design my dress too.”
Charlotte smiled. “It is beautiful.”
Mia leaned closer. “So, when are you two planning the wedding?”
“That’s something both families need to sit down and discuss,” Charlotte replied. “And of course, we have to pick the perfect date.‘
Mia nodded. “True. Marriage is a big deal. You want to get it just right.
Sophie grinned. “Charlotte, make sure you invite me when the time comes.”
“Of course.”
While Charlotte was happily chatting with her friends, Sean found himself abandoned. He wandered over to a sofa and sat down.
Ian came over with a bottle of wine. “Congratulations on getting what you wanted. Let’s have a drink.”
Noah arrived with two more bottles and plopped down beside Sean. As he twisted a cap off, he laughed. ” You might be happy about your proposal, but don’t think I forgot how you were rubbing it in about me still being single. Tonight, I’m getting you drunk.”
