Ian discovered that Mia was dating someone one weekend evening

Mia had just gone to take a shower, leaving her phone on the desk in her bedroom. Ian had brought her favorite snacks from outside their old high school.

He stepped into the room, heard the sound of running water from the bathroom, and figured she was showering. He planned to set the food down and leave, but at that moment her phone buzzed

One look and he froze. His heart seemed to stop.

The message was from someone saved under the name “Baby.”

“Baby, I just got out of the shower. Kiss, kiss. I miss you so much.

Ian stared at the message, his fist tightening until his knuckles tuned white. He stood there in silence, unmoving, unable to speak.

It was impossible to tell how long he stayed like that.

When Mia came out of the shower, she jumped in surprise.

“Ian? What are you doing here?”
