The Apple of My Eye novel Chapter 1843

Knowing that Angel had fallen deeply in love with Charles, Franklin had no choice but to give in to her bidding.

"Dad, are you serious? Will I really have the opportunity?" Angel burst into tears. Franklin could see grievance written all over her face.

"When did I ever lie to you? You're my dear daughter." Flashing an assuring smile, Franklin comforted his daughter. In fact, he wasn't sure what would happen next.

Hearing her father's assurance, Angel felt relieved. He had never let her down in the past.

Knowing that Angel was now okay, Franklin was able to leave in peace and head back to work.

Meanwhile, at the hospital. David came to see Charles as soon as the visiting hours started.

Charles propped himself up as David sat on a chair beside his bed. He had called for David to discuss how to deal with his domestic affairs, ignoring the issues involving Angel.

After a long discussion, they finally thought of a perfect plan to draw the snake out of its hole.

However, Charles still felt worried about carrying out his solution. Thinking that time may not always be at his side, he needed to decide quickly to spare himself any troubles in the future.

"President Lu, is it really necessary to do that? If Ms. Lu finds out, she will be extremely angry." Knowing that Melissa had always taken Leila as her own daughter, David knew that she would be devastated with Charles' plans against Leila.

"I'm sure she will understand. Right now, she only sees what Leila wants her to see," Charles replied in a determined tone.

Believing that Melissa had come to completely trust Leila, David wasn't as optimistic as Charles.

At this time, no one knew that Charles was still alive. That meant that Leila was the only support Melissa had. If she learned that Leila was only using her for money, it would break her heart. She would not be able to stand it.

Noticing that David was immersed in deep thought, Charles couldn't help but smile. "Don't worry about it, David. I will take care of it myself."

Charles knew David well enough to tell what he was worried about. In fact, even Charles knew that making Melissa accept Leila's actions might not be all that easy, considering her poor health condition.

"Okay, President Lu." David responded, dismissing his worried thoughts. He knew that worrying too much wouldn't help Charles with his recovery, so he decided to just trust him completely.

"By the way, how is Sheryl?" Charles asked out of the blue. Of everyone, it was Sheryl that he was worried the most about. Come to think of it, he had confidence in dealing with company affairs, but about Sheryl, he knew that he couldn't afford to make any mistakes.

"President Lu, don't worry about that. Ms. Zhao is with Ms. Xia, so she will be fine. Besides, I've already explained a bit about your current situation to her, so she shouldn't worry too much. However, I think she would definitely want to meet you as soon as possible." Knowing that Sheryl was still in love with Charles, David didn't want her to get stressed about everything that was going on.

David took the opportunity to tell Charles everything that had happened to Sheryl during the period after Charles' disappearance. Charles listened intently and fell into a morbid silence as soon as David stopped talking.

All the while that David was talking, all Charles could think of were the days he had spent with Sheryl. Looking back at those memories, he realized how precious they were. He probably wouldn't even know how much he loved Sheryl if not for this accident.

Charles couldn't deny that Sheryl had always been the person he cared for the most. And now, after surviving this disaster, he was definitely certain about it. She was the first woman he thought about, his one and only love.

"Where are the others?" Still puzzled, Sheryl had completely forgotten that Phoebe was ill. 'Where did everyone go?' Sheryl tried hard to think what would've happened while she was dealing with some paperwork in her office.

"You really forgot? Our company received a rush job, and everyone is working on it. Look at me. I'm the boss, but now I am working as your assistant." Looking at Sheryl, Isla tried to sound sarcastic and pretend to be angry.

Without doubt, Sheryl knew that Isla was intentionally irritating her. Instead of getting angry, she immediately pulled Isla into her arms and smiled. "Okay, okay. I'll help you."

"That is my girl. Thank you." Just like a child, Isla felt better after she finished complaining.

Shaking her head helplessly, Sheryl couldn't help but smile at Isla's childish behavior. Turning from Isla, she grabbed one of the file folders on the table and started looking into it.

It took them an entire day to finish sorting out all the paperwork. Luckily, both of them finished everything a few minutes after their business hours.

Knowing that Aron was already waiting for her downstairs, Isla went down in a rush.

"Sheryl, I'll go ahead. Be careful when you go back home," Isla said, leaving abruptly.

Before Sheryl could even respond, Isla was long gone. Despite being left alone, Sheryl still felt glad to have Isla.

Sheryl went back to her office to get her bag and finally called it a day. As she walked towards the building entrance, she seemed to see a familiar face from afar. To her surprise, it was Nick.
