Chapter 37
“Okay, everyone, let’s open your books to chapter seven,” Alpha Ezra says.
We pull out our tablets, and I wink at Tiana when I hear her sigh beside me.
Throughout class, Tiana slumps in her seat. I noticed it on Wednesday when we were here, and I thought it was because she missed the first day of class. But now I think it’s because she’s hoping Alpha Ezra won’t notice her and call on her. She’s so incredibly different in this class than she is in warrior training.
When Alpha Ezra springs our first test on us at the end of class, I actually hear Tiana whimper. I reach over and squeeze her hand as Alpha Ezra sends the test to our tablets for us to complete electronically.
I focus on the test, going through the questions and answering them to the best of my ability. Having worked with Christian so much on my own pack’s finances, I have an advantage. Christian taught me how to dig around in the finances and to find things that were off. That’s how we ended up being able to charge Dorian with undermining my father.
I’m not surprised when Cassie finishes first, collecting her things and heading out of class. I’m not far behind her and as I get ready to leave, I see that Tiana has her hand in her hair, staring at her tablet, and looking utterly devastated as she tries to answer the questions.
I say goodbye to Alpha Ezra and step out of the classroom. Since I know she’s struggling, I wait for her. Cole comes out next, followed by Justin and the other Alpha heirs. There are a couple other people from the Pack Management track, like Helen who come out after the heirs, but no
Sebastiana.
I wait, and I wait, and I wait.
I’m just about to go check to see if she left out a different door when she and Alpha Ezra exit together.
“I’m sure it will be fine, Alpha Sebastiana,” he tells her.
She nods, looking utterly defeated. When she sees me, she walks over and I open my arms.
She walks in without hesitation and wraps her arms around me.
“That sucked,” she groans.
“I’m sure it will be fine, T. You don’t know how to fail.’
“I don’t know how to pass finance class either,” she grumbles. “Come on, let’s go get dinner. It’s my turn for a massage tonight in sex class and I could use it after that.”
“Too bad you’re still face down. I could ease some of this stress you’re feeling,” I tease.
She smiles, which is what I intended.
“You could ease my stress after class like you did on Wednesday.”
“Oh? Did you like me taking you against the side of the classroom,” I growl softly.
