By the time Javier had arrived at his office, Ella had done preparing all the necessities for their meeting with Summers Tech Inc —Thornton’s company and Phoenix Orientem Plc. She had booked the meeting room beforehand and had arranged for everything. From the devices being used during the presentation and discussion to the beverages being served during and after the meeting. Carefully she placed her hand on her belly and rubbed it gently. Even though she had drunk a lot of water, her stomach still felt uneasy.

She heard his footsteps and quickly rose to her feet, ready to greet him. “Good afternoon, Sir.”

“Miss Stanford,” Javier greeted back as he put the cart of milk and an empty glass next to it. He opened the cart and poured the milk into the glass. “Here. Have a drink.”

Ella picked up the glass and took a sip. The milk tasted fresh and creamy. She finished the whole glass then placed it down on the table. “Thank you. Did you get this on your way here?”

“I went to buy it from a nearby convenience store,” he replied then planted a kiss on her forehead. “How are you feeling?” He bent forward and planted a kiss on the top of her belly.

She chuckled. “Are you asking me or your baby?”

“Our baby,” he corrected, tapping her nose with his forefinger. “Both.”

“I think my stomach is feeling slightly better now. I am sorry for worrying you. You should have told me that you wanted to buy the milk. We could have parked somewhere.”

“Were you not going to the bathroom?”

Ella gasped. “How did you know?” She did not recall ever telling him that her stomach bothered her so much that she had wished she could rush to the bathroom as soon as they arrived at the office.

A grin spread on Javier’s face. “How could I not? I know you so well.” He sighed, shaking his head. “You even needing to ask me that can be considered as an insult.”

She rolled her eyes then poured herself another glass of milk and finished it in one go. It felt so refreshing. “I have everything prepared for the meeting.” She glanced at the clock on her computer screen before turning her gaze back to Javier. “We only have fifteen minutes left before they arrived. Let’s go to the meeting room.” Ella was about to grab the files when Javier quickly snatched them off the desk along with her laptop.

“Let me carry these for you.”

“I am just pregnant,” protested Ella.

“Not just pregnant, Miss Stanford. You are carrying something far more precious that using the word ‘just’ is not inexcusable, you are carrying our baby. Now let’s head there before they arrive.”

“If you say so.” She shrugged and followed him out.

He held the door open for her then led the way to the meeting room. By the time they arrived there, members of the production and marketing team were already there including one of the executives, Jeff Morgan. The older man was sipping his tea when Javier held the door open for Ella.

“Jeff,” Javier greeted him with a bob of his head. He placed Ella’s laptop along with the other files on the table then proceeded to pull the chair for Ella before sitting at the head of the long glass-surfaced table. “Everyone,” he was addressing the larger audience, everyone in this huge meeting room, drawing everyone’s attention to him. “As you know, we are going to expand our wings further into the entertainment industry. We have discovered a lot of talents, signed them, and worked with them in numerous productions. It has been great but we are about to do something greater. We will have our own TV station and our own streaming network. The developer that my brother has chosen specifically for this project, Phoenix Orientem Plc will help build a forty story building here in Washington D. C. with the first five stories being a lifestyle mall, sixth to the tenth story would be our learning station where we would open our office to give seminars and some crash courses to the young generations, then from the eleventh story onwards it would be our production offices. Summers Tech Inc had developed a program for our learning as well as our broadcasting platform. We have discussed everything in regards to the learning program and our upcoming platform with Summers Tech Inc separately however now we would like to focus on the lifestyle mall. That is where Phoenix Orientem Plc and their architects and designers came in.”

“Maria, stop teasing them,” chastised a deep voice with a hint of English accent coming from outside of the meeting room. A second later, the owner of the aforementioned voice entered the room. He was a tall man, taller than Javier who was already six feet two, wearing a black tuxedo and black sunglasses even though he was inside a building with tinted glass. “Greetings, everyone.” He smacked Maria off the table and the other woman laughed in joy. “Here is my name card.” He looked at Maria and she pulled out a small box stacked with the man’s name cards and started handing each to everyone in the room.

Javier did not accept the card when Maria came to his side so she placed it on the table in front of him. Still, his eyes were solely fixed on the figure standing at the other head of the table. A deep frown submerging his forehead as if he was forcing his brain to work harder than usual. It was as frustrating for him because it felt like he was so close to getting the memory he had stored at the back of his head but he kept falling in the process.

Ella, who stood on his left, gasped. “Sir.” There was a warning in her tone. It told him that something was off.

“Since I have introduced myself to all of you. Please do introduce yourself in return. After all, we are going to work together to make this dream project a reality. At least we should make ourselves acquainted with one another.” The man took the seat at the other head of the table and smiled.

Javier’s body froze. He would recognize that smile everywhere. No matter how many years had separated them. No matter how long had it been since he had last seen that smile. “Draven,” he said as his brain succeeded in obtaining the wanted information.

“Brother,” said Draven Summers in return. “I almost feel hurt should you not recognize me.”

Almost on cue, Thornton and his team entered the meeting room. The eldest of Summers siblings widened his eyes as he caught the sight of his missing brother. The brother that they all had been searching for for the last two to three years. The brother that had run away more than ten years ago. “Draven. Is this really you?”

“Ah, I start to regret coming here now.” Draven rolled his eyes and leaned back against the leather chair. “This does feel like a reunion but I have to break it to you that this is not a reunion by any means.”

Dun dun dun, what do you think, Dear Gentle Readers? What is Draven really up to? For those of you who do not know, Draven is Declan's twin brother who had left home after their grandfather wrote him off his will. And if you read this story thoroughly, Piers had bad blood with Draven too as mentioned in Chapter 57. Enjoy the story and stay safe! Also, if you do like this story, please leave a review and vote.
