"No buts." Yvette's slender fingers tapped lightly on the edge of the table. Her presence exuded a pressure that made it difficult for anyone to raise their heads.
"Are you planning to defy my orders?"
Miguel couldn't help but tremble. "I wouldn't dare..."
Only then did Yvette nod in satisfaction. She pulled out a map and marked the location of the casino with her pen.
Tomorrow's target was the largest casino owned by Shadow Alliance. It was a top choice for the world's rich and famous, where billions flowed daily, stacking up incredible profits.
Destroying their casino would ruin a significant chunk of Shadow Alliance's profits. Afterward, she would blow up one of their most crucial docks.
Shadow Alliance's dumbass leader would suffer a considerable loss this time, finally giving her a chance to vent some of the anger that had been festering in her heart.
Watching Yvette circle one location after another on the map made Miguel feel a cold chill down his spine. Yet, he was powerless to intervene and could only pray in silence.
He only asked that everything would go smoothly this time!
…
"Mrs. Quinn Senior, I made some nourishing soup for you. Please have a taste!"
Victoria carried a bowl of the soup over to Martha. Dressed in a pure white dress, she looked graceful and virtuous, embodying a picture of perfect filial devotion.
"Victoria, you're so thoughtful."
In front of the many housekeepers, Martha graciously took a sip, then said, "This soup tastes good, but you really don't need to keep coming over here all the time. It must be tiring! Besides, you're already so frail. I worry just looking at you!"
Victoria had been coming to Quinn Manor every day recently, and while Martha didn't have the heart to turn her away, she gently tried to express her feelings.
Meeting Martha's loving gaze, Victoria's lips curled up ever so slightly in a concealed smirk, though she modestly replied, "I'm so glad you like it, Mrs. Quinn Senior. I was worried you wouldn't!"
Martha patted Victoria's hand affectionately. "Anything you give, I'll love!"
"In that case, you should wear it every day, Mrs. Quinn Senior!"
Martha nodded without hesitation. "Of course! From now on, I'll wear this perfume every day!"
Hearing this, Victoria felt even more satisfied. That sedative incense she had bought for a high price on the black market was truly effective.
Just a single whiff had already caused a significant shift in Martha's attitude toward her. This perfume would keep her in a constant daze. As long as she continued using it every day, Martha's will would gradually fall under Victoria's control.
And when that happened, that bitch, Yvette would be despised by Martha.
