Alyna hung up the phone.

Without hesitation, she typed out a resignation text and hit send, firing it off straight to Leo.

Leo had been strictly forbidden from gaming by his personal warden, Anya, with Chunky acting as the on-site supervisor.

Now, during the day, Leo spent his time actively guiding his employees through their technical tasks.

His phone, sitting on Chunky's desk, buzzed. "Leo, hurry up," Chunky called out. "Your girl is checking up on you again."

Smiling, Leo walked over to Chunky's desk and picked up the phone. "I'm just at work, and she's still interrogating me. That girl never takes a break."

He unlocked the screen and opened the message. Instantly, the smile on his face froze and slowly faded away. He wordlessly tilted the screen toward Chunky.

Chunky's eyes widened in shock. "Leo, she's...?"

Leo quickly typed a reply: Approved. Organize the accounting ledgers and leave them in my office.

Neither of them said another word, silently returning to guiding the team.

By that afternoon, Alyna had finished processing her paperwork and walked into Leo's office.

Chunky was sitting nearby. "Why the sudden resignation? Everything was fine a couple of days ago." He had assumed the tension from her previous argument with Leo had blown over, and he hadn't heard her complaining recently.

After working together for so long, her sudden departure left an unsettling feeling in Chunky's chest.

"The company doesn't have any active projects right now," Alyna explained. "Staying here just to handle minor reimbursements doesn't challenge my skills.

And watching the company bleed money every day with zero revenue is making me anxious, and it's completely derailing my thesis.
