A moment later, Chad walked down the stairs holding a yawning Wayne. "Let's grab breakfast. Your uncle will drop you off today."
Those words acted like magic. Wayne instantly woke up, and Henry's mood soared.
"Uncle Andre, I wanna go too!" Wayne cheered.
"Daddy, I love you!" Henry added, initiating his daily brainwashing routine.
At seven-thirty, Andre drove out with both boys strapped into the car.
Molly, having finally been woken up by her husband, wandered into the dining room. Sensing something was missing, she looked around and asked, "Chad, where's Wayne?"
At the prestigious kindergarten, little Wayne started throwing a tantrum. He didn't want to leave with his Uncle Andre; he wanted to go play with his brother.
Balancing his nephew on one hip, Andre waved goodbye to his son.
Henry walked through the school gates, then immediately spun around and hid behind the security booth. Tilting his head, he peeked through the gap in the sliding gate to make sure his dad wasn't going to spank Wayne.
Catching sight of his overprotective son out of the corner of his eye, Andre wiped away his nephew's tears. "Sweetie, look at me. Do you want to play with your brother?"
Wayne nodded frantically.
"Then you have to be a good boy today. In two months, I'll let you come here and see him every single day. How does that sound?"
With a few extra years of parenting experience under his belt, Andre successfully placated his nephew and strapped him into the back seat. Glancing at the sneaky little figure still hiding by the gate, Andre leaned against the car door, glaring playfully at his clever son.
Then, he pulled out his phone and made a call.
Simultaneously, Henry's smartwatch buzzed. "Hello, Daddy."
"Stop spying. I'm watching you walk to class," Andre ordered.
"Where's Wayne?" Henry asked.
"He stopped crying. I'm taking him home."
