Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1948

Through the reflection in the vanity mirror, Mia caught the awkward, reluctant look on her husband's face. She didn't tease him about it. "I didn't ask. When we got there, he definitely looked like something was weighing heavily on him. But Molly and I have a rule: if he wants to talk, he'll talk. We never push him."

Andre frowned. "He's too stubborn. He won't say a word."

"Exactly. He learned it from you. Bottling everything up, refusing to share the burden with the person sleeping right next to him."

The usually stoic CEO shifted uncomfortably. "I am nothing like him. I tell you everything, big or small."

Mia raised an eyebrow. "You don't have any secrets from me?"

Andre cleared his throat. "...So if Leo doesn't speak up, you and Molly are really just going to leave it alone?"

"Relax," Mia assured him. "Anya will leak the intel to us when the time is right."

She paused, narrowing her eyes. "Wait a minute. Were you just trying to change the subject?"

Andre abruptly stood up. "I'm going to check if Henry is asleep. That kid has been faking it lately. He tricks us into leaving, then sneaks out of bed to play with his toys. Every morning I find a different toy hidden in his blankets."

Because Andre always woke up first and got their son ready before Mia even stirred, she had been completely oblivious to this new habit. But Andre knew exactly what the little terror was up to.

They walked quietly down the hall to the nursery. The second Henry heard footsteps, he dove under the covers and squeezed his eyes shut.

When his parents opened the door, they immediately spotted the action figures scattered across the mattress that definitely hadn't been there at bedtime. They exchanged a knowing glance.

The tiny lump in the bed was putting on an Oscar-worthy performance, eyes screwed shut, trying his hardest to look like an innocent, sleeping angel.

Mia narrowed her eyes. So her little night owl had picked up some new tricks.
