Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1707

Chad called his mom. “Hey, Mom, just letting you know, I’m calling in sick for Molly.”

Coleen didn’t skip a beat. “What’d she get up to last night?”

It was nearly noon when Molly finally rolled out of bed. She lay there for a moment, still groggy, before the panic hit—she was supposed to be at work. She reached for her phone to call her mom, but then noticed she’d already had a call that morning.

Molly squinted at her screen. “Wait, did I already call? Ever since I became a mom, my memory’s a mess. I have zero recollection of that call.”

Wayne, hanging nearby, said, “Dad~”

“What’s up with your dad?” Molly asked.

Wayne just sighed and flopped backwards onto the bed, giving up on trying to explain.

When Cooper’s plane landed, he didn’t bother heading to the Irvin house first—he made a beeline for the Cedillos’. “Sweetie!”

“Cooper!” came the reply.

Uncle and nephew gave everyone a show, running across the room to each other like it was the finale of a rom-com.

Little Henry, legs pumping, dove straight into Cooper’s arms and was swooped up high.

Cooper couldn’t get enough of him—every time they were finally reunited, Henry’s cheeks ended up squished from all the kisses. “Love your Uncle Cooper?”

“Love Cooper!” Henry giggled.

Cooper handed him a shiny new smartwatch. “You’re starting school soon, so here’s a present from your uncle. If you ever miss me, just call.”

Mia, watching her son, smirked. “With how he is, don’t be shocked if that thing ends up in the pool.”

“That’s why I got the waterproof one,” Cooper said, already prepared.

Mia just shook her head.

Cooper taught Henry how to use the watch and helped him sync it with Mia’s phone. Later, while Andre was at work, he started getting call after call from a weird number.

After dodging a few, Andre finally picked up. “Hello?”

But Cooper was faster—he’d already picked up Henry again. In Cooper’s world, his nephew was 90% of everything; the rest of the family split the other 10%.

Henry knew full well he was his uncle’s favorite. Even at dinner, he insisted on sitting right next to Cooper.

The big round table was packed with both families.

Wayne still hadn’t given up his booster seat, unlike his older brother, who’d barely used one. At Henry’s back-to-school dinner, Wayne just ate standing up.

Madison asked her daughter how she was feeling about the new school year.

Mia just laughed. “Honestly? All I did was give birth. You guys had everything else ready a month ago.”

The “birth” in question: Henry.

Before school started, Mia and her husband even planned one more hospital run for a full check-up and to make sure all his vaccinations were up to date, just to be safe before enrollment.

While the grown-ups chatted and Andre opened a bottle of wine, Henry was busy stuffing his face with meat. The second he saw his dad pour a glass, he grinned and insisted he should get a sip, too.
