His clothes were huge on her, but at least she was covered. Sarah had stopped struggling; the alcohol had finally taken over, and she was nearly unconscious. She slumped against him, seemingly fast asleep.
By the time he got her into bed, Larry was completely exhausted himself. He collapsed onto the mattress beside her. He’d had his fair share of drinks too, and now, with the adrenaline gone, the fatigue hit him like a ton of bricks.
He turned his head to look at her peaceful, sleeping face and couldn’t help but laugh. It was the first time he’d ever seen someone comfort another person by creating absolute chaos. He gently pinched her cheek, surprised by how soft it was. “So, who was comforting whom here?” he murmured.
As if hearing him, Sarah mumbled something in her sleep and swatted his hand away. Larry stopped teasing her and just watched her, mesmerized by her vibrant, tranquil features. As crazy as it was, her antics had been surprisingly effective. He’d been so busy managing her that he hadn’t had a single moment to dwell on his own pain. Maybe, just maybe, he would actually get a good night’s sleep.
He closed his heavy eyelids, the pleasant scent of her hair filling his senses as sleep began to pull him under. Just as he was drifting off, a soft body snuggled up against his. He instinctively wrapped an arm around her and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
...
Dennis caught her hand and brought it to his lips for a soft kiss. A captivating smile touched his lips. “I don’t mind. Play all you want, Camila… but this is a bit tame, don’t you think? Want me to teach you a different kind of game?”
The look in his eyes sent a shiver down Camila’s spine. She suddenly sensed danger. “N-No, I’m done playing!” she said, trying to pull her hand back.
But it was too late. A strong arm wrapped around her waist, and in a dizzying spin, she found herself sitting securely in his lap. Dennis’s lips brushed against her ear, his voice husky. “I’m a bit tired today, so I won’t move. Why don’t you take the lead? Play as much as you want… but you can’t leave until we’re both satisfied, hmm?”
