Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 672

As soon as she walked through the front door, Camila Davis spotted Dennis Williams and little Lillian already home.

The little one looked like she was in a great mood, sprawled out on the couch, happily playing with her stuffed fox.

Dennis sat beside her, watching with a soft smile as she made the fox “dance” along the armrest.

When they heard the door open, both father and daughter turned at the same time, looking over at her.

“Mommy! You’re back!” Lillian called out, waving excitedly.

“Yep, I’m home,” Camila replied, grinning at the pair. She set down her bag and asked, “So, how’d it go today? Lillian, did you get inspired?”

Lillian nodded eagerly. “I did! Daddy took me horseback riding, and the pony was so sweet! It was so much fun. And then we met a bunch of Daddy’s friends—uncle this, uncle that—they all gave me presents!”

As she spoke, Lillian gathered up her haul, arms full, and trotted over to show her mom, beaming with pride.

Camila expected to see a few harmless trinkets—maybe a plushie or a box of chocolates.

But as she looked over the pile, her jaw nearly hit the floor. High-end watches, a sparkling ring, and—was that a key to a sports car? And… real estate paperwork?

“Whoa, hold on—this is way too much!” Camila sputtered. “Luxury watches, rings, okay, but why is there a limited-edition car and a deed to a house in here? This can’t be right!”

What kind of people give a kid they’ve just met gifts like these?

She shot Dennis a look, silently asking for an explanation.

She might not know the full story, but she understood one thing: accepting gifts like these always came with strings attached.

Even if Dennis was a big deal in Cabinda, this was over the top.
