Camila Davis couldn’t help but laugh as the two insisted. “Alright, alright. I trust you guys,” she said, surrendering with a smile.
They first walked little Camila back to her room for bed.
After leaving Lillian’s bedroom, Camila Davis turned to Dennis Williams and said, “Tomorrow’s going to be a lot of work for you.”
Dennis’s eyes were deep and steady as he looked at her. “It’s no trouble. Of course, a little reward would make it even better.”
Camila caught the playful hint in his words.
She grinned, stood on tiptoe, and pressed a kiss to his lips.
Dennis’s arm slipped around her waist, pulling her closer, deepening the kiss.
That night at the hot springs, things had gotten pretty intimate between them. But ever since, Dennis had gone back to being the perfectly well-mannered gentleman—never pushing things further than a kiss.
Camila figured maybe it was the wine that night, making even the coolest heads a little reckless.
The goodnight kiss was sweet, but brief.
Since he knew she had to work early, Dennis walked her back to her room and then headed to his own for the night.
The next morning, after a quick breakfast together, Dennis took Lillian out for the day.
Before they left, Camila reminded him, “If anything comes up, let Susan know to pick up Lillian, okay? Don’t let it mess up your work schedule.”
“Got it,” Dennis promised, and then he and Lillian hopped into the car.
First stop: dropping Camila off at her research institute.
