Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1209

Before she even walked in, Sarah promised her brother she’d be on her best behavior. So now, she was trying extra hard. “My brother only got stuck overseas because of work, but everything he did was to get home sooner and be with Aurora for good. He’s not the type to play games. He just throws himself into work. He doesn’t know how to say sweet things to girls, and that’s why there were misunderstandings. He never explained himself, and that made Aurora upset. Honestly, I get why your family is angry. However you want to deal with him, he deserves it. On this, I’m totally on your side.”

Billy just looked at her, not saying a word, but Sarah didn’t flinch. She turned to Belinda and Orval, determined to make her point. “You’ve watched over your daughter her whole life, and now some guy comes along and wants to take her away. Of course you’re not thrilled. But, come on, my brother isn’t bad looking, he’s decent, and for years he’s kept to himself. He’s never fooled around. Aurora’s the only one in his heart. Besides her, he only cares about his job. He’s basically lived like a monk. You can definitely trust him on that. And about work, I don’t need to brag. If you ever want him to work for the Robinson family for free, just say the word. Seriously, finding a son-in-law this useful is a win.”

Billy really was a great catch, and everything Sarah said was true, but somehow, when she said it, it just sounded a little off.

Aurora almost couldn’t hold back her laughter. Even Belinda and Orval relaxed, a smile breaking through.

Seeing that no one was shooting her down, Beatty jumped in, wanting to keep the momentum going. “My daughter’s a little rough around the edges, but she makes sense. Billy’s made mistakes. However you want to deal with him, that’s up to you. But as parents, we just want our kids to be happy, right? Our families know each other, inside and out. Instead of letting Aurora marry into some random family, isn’t it better if she joins ours? We don’t have a lot of rules, but we really do value our daughters. If Aurora marries in, I promise to treat her like my own.”

Sarah eagerly raised her hand. “I can vouch for that. My parents spoil me and always pick on my brother. And if Aurora becomes my sister-in-law, I’ll have her back. My brother won’t dare bully her…”

Waldo chimed in at just the right time. “The women run our family. If you’re worried, we can have everything written up before the wedding, give Aurora all the security she needs.”

Belinda and Orval didn’t say anything, but their faces had softened. Clearly, they were moved.
