Dennis didn’t have to ask where they went. He shot Mr. Byron a look. “So what are the Kaston authorities even doing? How do you let a group like that get so big? Why not take them out?”

Mr. Byron looked helpless. “How could we have known? I already said they’re crafty. After Avalor put them on the wanted list, they got super cautious. When they first got to Kaston, they kept their heads down, working in the shadows. By the time we caught on, they’d already dug in deep.
