Dinner is served and when Hannah gets out of her room she was surprised to see Shawn waiting for her at the dining table. she thought that she made her points clear the last time that they spoke in the living room, but then she didn't, Shawn had not given up on her, not after what they'd been through together. he was in love with her and has mated with her so why was he going to leave her for someone else who he has nothing to do with?

“ What are you doing there?”

“ Just like you, I am hungry and starving as well so I intend to eat dinner”

“ Do you intend to eat dinner or do something to piss me off?”

“ What's the problem, Hannah? you're acting as though we are enemies”

“ We are not enemies, but then I want the best for you and maybe staying by your side may not be the best for you” you

“ Shut your mouth that is not for you to decide”

“ And is it for you to sit there and act as though everything is all right between us”

she was expecting to hear him say another thing when he burst into laughter for a moment before a sudden sadness overwhelmed him, consuming his soul and hugging him tightly that it wouldn't let go, that did not go unnoticed by Hannah and she quickly kept quiet taking slow steps towards him, she sat down across the table staring at him and wondering what has happened. she had thought she was the only one who was passing through and upheaval but it wasn't just her, Shawn was having his own moment as well, he was restless with everything that happened.

“Why are you suddenly this quiet?”

“ I just remember that one time that we fought those thugs”

when the memory flashed through her mind she smiled widely, but then the smile faded away from her face, she thought they were meant to be and he would always be with her but it seemed as though the moon goddess was toying with my emotions and making her not to ever be happy.

“ Anytime I am this close to being happy and finally having the family I always desire, she always gives it away from my hand. I should have known this was not going to last and wouldn't have invested my whole heart falling into it only for it to be taken away from me”

“ Don't say that, you don't have to jump to conclusions”

“What if I choose what I really want? what did I choose you because that is what I really want and nothing else”

She had a feeling he knew what he was talking about but then, she kept quiet about it.

“ Let us just have dinner and end the discussion here”

“ I don't think I want to end our discussion, we need to talk about ourselves otherwise there is no headway for us”

“ What do you want me to say? do you want me to make a decision for you? do you want me to tell you to leave your pack and choose me? do you want me to tell you to abandon your pack or your family and everybody that you care about? I am not going to do that, I really love you, you are my mate, but then I want the best for you and That is what is getting in between us”

Standing up, she moved towards her and held her tightly, his hand circled around her waist and she smiled her hand resting on her on his smooth chest. they stared into each other's eyes for the moment before she broke away from him and walked back to her seat, picking up her napkin and savoring the mouth-watering dish.
