Spoiled by the Silver Fox novel Chapter 792

Sebastian frowned, "Little troublemaker, what's got your mind racing now?"

"Gray, did you catch what I'm saying...?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Anyway, I'm scared."

"Easy there... The more complex the issue, the more you need to take it slow and steady. Rushing will only backfire... Instead of helping your mom, you'd just be adding to the chaos..."

"I get it, Gray..."

"Good. And don't be scared... I'm here, nothing to fear."

A flutter stirred in Stephanie's heart, and she stepped closer, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Right, with Gray by my side, I won't be scared... Gray will show me the right way to do things."

"There you go... Just accompany your mom to lunch, but keep it zipped. If they're talking shop, you just listen. If you're asked something, then you respond."

"So, I'm basically wallpaper?"

"Pretty much... The rest is out of your hands. Fate's gotta do its thing."

"Alright, Gray's word is law!"

"There's a good girl."

"Then I'll head down now... It's almost time for lunch, and I don't want mom to think I bailed on her."

"Go on... I'll fend for myself, Martin will snag me something from the cafeteria."

"Okay, Gray, you'll have to rough it for lunch. But I'll come home early and make you a hearty soup, fatten up my dear Gray."

Sebastian's lips twitched... He really didn't want to put on weight.

Watching the young girl storm in with a huff and then bounce out with pep, he chuckled and shook his head.

Was she really that eager to land herself a stepdad?

Had she ever neglected her daughter as a mother?

Kevin simply nodded with a smile, "Order whatever you like. This meal's on me, Director Bishop, so no holding back."

Marilyn protested, "Oh, that's not necessary..."

But Kevin was set on his course, planning to discreetly settle the bill midway through the meal.

Stephanie played along, ordering a spread of dishes.

Marilyn chose a single entrée and refrained from anything more.

Kevin looked surprised, "Is that all you're having?"

Marilyn smiled lightly, "I've been hitting the gym lately, best to avoid too many calories."
