When Mr. Temple dropped by my office earlier, he asked me out for lunch, said we could chat about some work stuff..."
Sebastian's eyes darkened slightly as he said, "Kevin's a solid guy... Forty-five this year, climbed his way up from a junior salesman to Director of Sales at Skyline Corporation. He's reliable, never slipped up on the job... definitely a good candidate."
Marilyn couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. "What in the world are you even talking about..."
"I didn't pry into his personal life... Steph could probably find out, though."
"Seb, are you for real... Are you helping me or her? I've said it, I'm not looking, and I'm not interested in Kevin... What on earth are you all up to?"
Sebastian couldn't help but chuckle. "I get Mrs. Bishop's point... But when Steph's being so thoughtful, naturally, I want to support her."
Marilyn rolled her eyes to heaven and hung up the phone.
After all... Kevin was her daughter's boyfriend.
It's like she's siding with her cheeky little girl.
Complaining to him didn't do a bit of good!
After being hung up on by his future mother-in-law, Sebastian asked Martin to check the surveillance to see where that little rascal Steph went snooping for Kevin's private info.
Martin looked genuinely puzzled. "Ms. Bishop suddenly checking on Kevin? Did he offend her somehow?"
"Don't ask, just check, and report back to me."
That little rascal... working just fine and she has to show up at the company, stirring up fun.
Couldn't even focus on work, just wanted to laugh.
"I heard from some of the old-timers that Mr. Temple's a widower, right? It's been over a decade and he's never remarried."
"Seems so... His late wife left him with a couple of kids who went abroad for studies. He's usually on his own, mostly buried in work, must be pretty lonely."
"Pfft, I bet his only making a move because he knows about Marilyn's connection with the CEO."
"Don't say that; Mr. Temple's got an annual income in the millions. He's not hurting for cash."
"Still, he can't compare to the CEO's future mother-in-law, can he?"
"What's with you... Mr. Temple's got a great reputation, and he's not short on money. Drives a luxury car, even fancier than Director Bishop's. Don't spread rumors; if Director Bishop hears, you could ruin what seems to be a promising match."
"I'm just saying there's a possibility... Director Bishop's the hot ticket at the company right now... From the thirty-something employees to the fifty-something executives, they've all got their eye on her... It's common knowledge, okay?"
