The reporters got the scoop they were jonesing for, though they were almost turning green with envy at Stephanie's cool demeanor.
Still, they were grateful for her cooperation, not acting like some diva, so they made way for her to leave without a fuss.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Stephanie slid into her car and drove off at a steady pace, following the GPS to her destination.
But as she pulled into the underground parking of the studio's skyscraper, she just couldn't seem to back her car into the spot. It was beyond frustrating. Just then, she overheard a group passing by, someone gasping, "Holy smokes, a sports car! Limited edition, so gorgeous!"
"Wow, what a sweet ride! When I hit it big, I'm gonna get me one of those!"
"Hey. Cousin, what are you doing here?" Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the air.
Stephanie frowned instinctively and looked over at the group.
It was Zola, looking surprised to see her.
Zola was surrounded by a bunch of trendy-looking guys and gals.
Hearing Zola call Stephanie 'cousin,' they all got curious, "Zola, you know her?"
"That's my cousin."
Zola said, an air of pride in her step as she strutted over in her heels.
Stephanie was equally surprised, "What are you doing here?"
"I work here."
Stephanie had promised Zola to hook her up with a job at an influencer agency, and later had Gracie arrange it.
Turns out Gracie knew the owner of an influencer startup in the building, and had set Zola up there.
"Well, congrats. By the way, have your mom and sister calmed down?"
"Mom's come around thanks to me, but my sister's still a pain. I'm staying at the employee dorms now, so she can't bother me. But don't worry, my mom's keeping an eye on her. She won't stir up trouble."
Stephanie nodded in understanding, "Alright, go on with your friends."
"You leaving soon, or staying at the studio for the afternoon?"
"Why, something up?"
"Uh. Steph, you've got no idea how famous you are right now, like a walking trending topic! If you could pop into my livestream this afternoon, I swear it'd shoot right to the top!"
Stephanie grimaced, "Sorry, I can't do that. It’s prohibited at the studio. Our artists can't just show up on live streams without the company's permission, unless it's for promoting new series."
"Got it." Zola said, disappointment in her voice.
