And it's clear that Marilyn didn't really want to stop Stephanie from acting.
Instead she was just testing his reaction to it.
She wanted to see if Sebastian, as the boyfriend, would mind.
Got to say, Marilyn was a damn good mom.
She really loved her daughter to bits.
Out of nowhere, Sebastian felt a pang of envy for their mother-daughter bond.
But then he thought, such a great mom belonged to Stephanie and he didn't feel so envious anymore.
Because Stephanie said that her mom would share her love with him.
And Marilyn treated him like her own son, everything she said and did was genuine, not a hint of pretense.
Sebastian was especially sensitive to those family matters and his eyes couldn't bear any hypocrisy or pretense.
So, he was pretty good at reading people.
After having supper, Stephanie asked Sebastian if she could sleep with her mom tonight.
Without hesitation, Sebastian agreed.
A man who was full of Stephanie's love was just so easygoing!
Stephanie, all excited, grabbed her pillow and went to find Marilyn to sleep with her.
Sebastian asked, puzzled, "Doesn't Mrs. Bishop's room have pillows?"
Stephanie blinked at him sweetly and said, "Of course they do, but they don't have your scent! I want to fall asleep smelling you!"
Sebastian was easily teased by Stephanie again.
He lay in bed with a smile on his face until he fell asleep.
He was so happy that he didn't even need to adjust to the time difference, and he slept soundly all night.
The next morning, Marilyn and Sebastian had breakfast early and went to the office.
But it was all good, they felt like a closer family.
She laughed and said, "Not necessary, I don't want to scare people. Everyone at the company is afraid of you."
"So, has anyone badmouthed me in front of you?"
"Who would dare. Hardly anyone talks about you behind your back."
They walked side by side into the underground parking elevator.
Along the way, they bumped into other employees. Those who knew the inside story were surprised but soon accepted it.
Those who were out of the loop were almost speechless with shock.
When they reached the eighteenth floor, Marilyn said, "Well, Sebastian, I'll go to work first."
"Mrs. Bishop, take your time."
The finance department staff who passed by were amazed at the sight.
