He took a deep breath, then another, threw off the covers and peeked underneath, realizing he wasn't wearing a stitch.
Sebastian! He actually dared to set him up!
Putnam barely glanced at Maddie, immediately got up, picked up all the clothes on the floor, and quickly put them on.
Maddie watched this, a little disappointed. "Putnam, I won't demand anything from you, it was my choice."
She really liked him.
Even if she couldn't end up with him, she wouldn't regret it.
At least, they had been that close once.
Maddie felt satisfied.
Without looking back, Putnam said, "We'll talk about us later, I need to find Sebastian!"
"Huh? What does this have to do with President Ingram? He kindly took you in, it's actually my fault, I volunteered, when you initiated, I didn't refuse, because you know I like you a lot."
With a twitch at the corner of his mouth, Putnam said, "Shut up! Get up and get dressed, I'll take you home later!"
After he said that and got dressed, he stormed out of the room.
Maddie, laying on the bed, wrapped her body with the quilt, somewhat in disbelief. "Putnam is actually taking me home?"
She covered her face with delight, rolling around in the quilt.
He didn't yell at her or kick her out.
Instead, he was taking her home.
That meant things weren't as bad as they seemed.
Maybe there were other possibilities!
Stephanie instinctively looked at Sebastian.
Sebastian had a nonchalant expression on his face. He raised an eyebrow and said, "It's fine, he won't do anything."
Stephanie was still worried, "Really?"
"He's been betrayed before, he loved that woman so much back then, after all these years, he doesn't seem to have much expectation for love. To him, whoever his girlfriend is, it doesn't matter, as long as she's obedient. Maddie suits him perfectly, and she really likes him, she doesn't care whether he'll like her or not. So, from a certain perspective, they're a perfect match, don't you think?"
It kind of made sense.
Sebastian wasn't a complete villain. It felt like he was helping his good friend move on from past pain.
Although his methods were a bit extreme.
She guessed Putnam would be revolted.
In the living room, Putnam couldn't find Sebastian and yelled angrily, "Sebastian, you dare to set me up, you dare to face me?"
