Stephanie said, a bit miffed, "You haven't explained yet why you were sneaking off texting Sebastian that I was seeing other guys behind his back!"
"I just didn't recognize it."
"Hmm, I see now. In your eyes, I'm just that untrustworthy! Even if it's not Sebastian today but some other guy, we're just having a meal, and you think I'm betraying him!"
Rubbing his nose, Putnam said, "Didn't I just see how you were gazing at him? You were pretty smitten!"
"Smitten? What do you mean."
"Your eyes were sparkling like stars. You only have that look when you're fond of someone."
Stephanie’s face turned red, and she said, a bit irritated, "What are you blabbering about!"
"Oh. You're blushing!"
"You're talking nonsense. Aren't you here for a meal too? Who are you with?"
"You're changing the subject?" Putnam raised an eyebrow.
Sebastian's eyes were locked on Stephanie, making her almost unable to lift her head.
This was so annoying. Dammit.
She kept her feelings for Sebastian hidden! Why did he have to say it out loud? It's making her so uncomfortable!
Sebastian didn't seem to notice anything. Did Stephanie like him? It didn’t seem like it.
She relied on him.
But Stephanie was young, and inexperienced in these matters. If one said she likes someone in public, she'll blush.
For some reason, he found it somewhat amusing. He glanced at Putnam and said, "Those people over there are your friends?"
"Yeah, do you guys want to join?"
"No, I'm going to watch a movie with Stephanie later."
"Is it important!"
"You don't have to say if you don't want to." She'll just ask Putnam secretly later. If Sebastian knew about him, he should know about Sebastian too.
After finishing the meal, it was almost seven-thirty.
Stephanie bought two bottles of cola and a bucket of popcorn, then went to the cinema with Sebastian.
The movie premiere wasn't very crowded.
The director and several of the main actors, even some of the extras were almost all present, sitting in the front row.
Stephanie's seat was in the last row.
Seeing Mr. Finnegan in the front row, Stephanie quickly said, "You sit down first. I'm going to say hello to Mr. Finnegan. Let them know I'm here. They gave me movie tickets. If they don't know I'm here, they'll think I'm disrespectful. The next time they see me, they might scold me."
"You go ahead."
